My beloved Simba, who I have had since she was 8 weeks old, passed away tonite..she would have been 14 on August 1'st..I lost my other furbaby Doobie, only a few weeks ago..and I guess Simba's age and grief got to be too much for her, as she rapidly went downhill right after Doobie passed away.. after I spent all day petting her and assuring her she was loved, and that it was okay to cross over and be out of pain.. she passed away in my arms tonite..I know a lot of other DIS'ers have lost their furbabies recently also, and now they all have a new one to show around Heaven.
Rest in Peace, my furbaby !
Lynn

Lynn, I am sorry for your loss. I know it hurts and it hurts bad. I lost my two beloved dogs in less than one year. Your losses are even more close. Know that your Simba and your Doobie are patting butterflies at the Rainbow Bridge. You are in my thoughts.

How sad that your two kitties passed so close in time. Is it any comfort that you didn't have to put her to sleep, that she went on her own with you right there telling her it was ok to go? I pray that when I face this with my dog, that it's natural and I don't have to make the decision for him, even though a poster who had to do this said it was the last gift she gave to her dog, to take him out of his pain. I get so emotional when I read about people losing their beloved pet babies. Hugs to you.

I'm so sorry! I lost my ferret, Jake last Friday. I held him a long time Thursday night and he wanted to let go so badly. When I got up Friday morning, he was gone. I miss him so much.

My kitty Max is 14. He's such an old man, but he's doing good so far.

I am so very sorry to hear about your furbaby. :sad1:

Our oldest kitty is 19 and I worry about her (Shadow) all the time.

I am sorry for your loss. :sad1: Your furbabies are now keeping each other company in Heaven.

 So sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a precious pet(s). I'm sure they are together now and I'm sure they knew they were well loved!

I'm so sorry. They become part of your heart so quickly, don't they? I lost my furbaby after 17 years just last year.

I'm so sorry. It's rough to lose two furbabies so close together.

It really helps to know that someone else out there understands the pain..she was my baby in every sense of the word..she comforted me, she knew when I was sad or sick, she was the most loving cat I have ever had..and yes, it helped to know that I was right there with her as she went..I had promised her that I would be there with her, and was able to hold her and fulfill that last promise..I am really hoping that she and my Doobie are 'patting butterflies at the rainbow bridge' with all of your other furbabies..just that thought made me smile! I am sure the ones that have been there a long time are taking charge of all these new arrivals..so sorry to hear of the losses of ALL of your pets also..
Thanks again for the kind words..from my DIS family..as you ARE all part of my family in some way!
Lynn

I'm so sorry for you, I have 3 fur babbies and know what loss like that is like. Take care ok?

So sorry for your loss of Simba and Doobie...it does leave a hole in your heart!

We lost Luke last Thursday. He was 17 and we got him at 8 wks old too. He had lived with my mother for the past 7 years (he didn't adjust well to our new house and all the children around) but I still miss him. He was the first pet DH and I got together.

It is hard losing such a beloved pet. I read Marley & Me last weekend and haven't been able to read the last 20 pages yet. :sad1:

For you Lynn to help ease some of your pain....

In your time of sorrow.
may it comfort you to know,
that on your heart remains an eternal paw print,
and on Simba's is a hand print of love

So sorry for your loss,

Ruthie

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's hard and painful to get through.
It's almost been 2 weeks since I put our dog Mitch down. Very painful to get through. He was shy of 12 years old and had bone cancer. He was the dog I could count on to make me feel better when I'd be sad about my mom's health.

It's very good that you were with her. In the end, we humans are the lucky ones.
