My BCV tour

Just a couple of things I noticed on our BCV model tour that might be of interest to some:

There is a chest type piece of furniture in the bedroom that is huge for storage, very deep and could probably hold a week's worth full of accumulated toys or an entire week's clothing.

The "cocktail" table in the living area also opens up (I think the bedding for the sofa bed will be in there) and also would hold a lot of "stuff".

The person who walked us through said the safe in the closet is larger than in previous vacation homes and can hold a PC easily.

We bought BCV over the phone and were very pleased with the model. However, the person who showed us the BCV model also showed us the WL model and my husband loved them! They are very unique looking and I guess appeal to the masculine side.

We are very pleased with our purchase and can't wait to "Go home!"

We also looked at the WLV when taking our tour, and I liked them enough to stay there, but not enough to make it my "home" resort. I felt that when I went outside I should have on a heavy coat and gloves and snowboots. I would love to stay there during the Christmas holidays sometime, but for now, I am totally pleased with OKW and BCV.

Disneyani,
Thanks for telling us about the extras. I also like the kitchen table and bench arrangement which I think offers needed extra eating space.

Looking forward to our christmas trip to see a two bedroom in action for ourselves.

Great info! I actually have not taken a tour. I received something in the mail, called, and bought on the spot! We have stayed at Beach Club a few times (we stay at Poly the most, though), and it just seemed like the smart thing to do.

Since I am pretty close, I wonder if they would let me tour the models even though I have already purchased? Has anyone ever done this? I think I will give my guide a call and see if he can help me out. Terry S. gave a link to interior pictures, and the rooms look great. But I would still like to walk around in one.

By the way, does anyone think they will ever put a DVC at the Poly or the Contemporary? I am not sure if there is even room, but that would be my personal pick!

I can help you a little with the tour info. I asked our guide about it. He said to see the DVC desk about a "member tour". They'll get a van over there for you for the tour. Since I haven't done it, can anyone else verify this?

I bought over the phone and did the tour about 3 months later. We already had a December 1999 trip planned to Dixie Landings with a discount rate when I bought in September and decided to keep it and bank the points I had left after magical beginnings. So we dropped in at BWV one afternoon and by luck my guide was available (I just wanted to look around quick, so it didn't matter if it was a different guide). I had already stayed at OKW, so I knew what that was like.

Welcome Home!

Ashley'sDad,

Not being on the monorail was the only thing that discouraged me about DVC. For years we stayed at either the Polynesian or the Contemporary...with the Contemporary being my favorite.

If there were a DVC on the monorail, I'd buy an add on there in a minute! Wouldn't that be wonderful?

I wouldn't hold my breath! They have already announced plans for the next two DVC properties, and I'm sure they will hesitate to build anything after that unless demand remains strong.

Another question: where on the monorail would they build it? There is no room between Polynesian and TTC or between Contemporary and MK. There is a little room between Poly and GF but not a lot; it may be enough for Poly/DVC addon similar to VWL, but not a whole new resort. Building between GF and MK may impact service roads and areas for MK. A resort between TTC and CR would make it hard to get to CR but may be feasible.
