My avatar disappeared

I logged in the other day to see that my avatar was missing. I clicked on it and was met with a prompt that said I didn't have permission to change it. My avatar was a default Ariel one from the board's list. I don't understand if this is a glitch or if it was taken from me for a reason. Also, I don't seem to have a Control Panel.

Help?

You can't post an avatar (or pretty much anything else) until you have 10 posts. There also are no longer any avatars for posted on the DISboards. That feature isn't available on the "new" boards. You need to use any picture you have (once you have 10 posts).

The "control panel" should be there when you hover over your username on the top right of the page. But, as I mentioned, you won't really be able to do much in the way of signatures/avatars/etc until you've got 10 posts.

And, even once you've reached 10 posts, it's not immediate that you get your "privilege's". It could take at least 30 minutes (maybe longer)

That's what I get for being a long-time lurker, haha. Good to see that my signature stayed, though!

The 10-post rule is new since the conversion earlier this month. Since you joined in late January right before the conversion, you were able to select a stock avatar. However, those went away and are no longer available. If you go to the Test Board you can up your post count to 10 and after maybe about 30 minutes you'll be able to modify your avatar.

I'm really confused. I used the test board to log over 10 posts. I've also posted on a couple other boards (3 posts on my cruise meet up). I had spent a lot of time finding an avatar and creating a timeline in my signature. It was on there for several days and now, all of a sudden, it's all gone and telling me I don't have privileges again.

Well the system only thinks you have 3 posts.

My first two posts on my cruise's meet up page shows my avatar and signature (I waited to post on there until after I had 10 other posts on the test board and the system let me create them). Now I have to do it all over? I'm not feeling the love for this site.

Hmmm, it looks like you only have 5 posts at the moment and none show an avatar. You have one post on the Cruise Line forum, one on a Cruise Meet thread, and 3 in this thread. Posts to your profile page, or another's profile page, aren't included in the count. There is nothing on the Test Board from you. Which post do you see that has your avatar showing? Is it possible you have 2 accounts?

Were you the one who set up 10 different threads on the Test board? Yes, that equals 10 posts, but you just need to make 10 posts on any thread already in existence. Maybe, if that's you, they deleted all those individual threads on the Test board?
