fell flat. I tried mixing them with Paremesean cheese, oregano, paprika, and pepper but it just didn't come out very well.

I am going to try it again with crab meat in a couple of days - Found a different recipe that has putting and egg into the mix - that might have helped today. :(

Hi Amanda!

I'm sorry your attempt at the salmon patties didn't work. Did you follow the recipe I gave you? It does call for 1 egg. I'm sorry if I left that ingredient out.

I used to make mine (pre-SBD) with cornmeal or Jiffy corn bread mix and they were sweet. I miss that sweet taste so next time I make them, I'm going to add a little splenda and see if that works. I hope your next attempt is a good one and that they come out tasting yummy!

You might also try some flaxseed meal - it adds very little taste (just a faint almond-y flavor), and does a great job of "gelling" stuff together. :)

Flaxseed meal is a great idea. I'll have to try salmon patties. Is there a recipe on Eating Healthy?

Salmon patties are great. I also love tuna patties. Same idea.

I love salmon patties. Before Atkins I used a tall can of salmon, two eggs and one sleeve of saltine crackers. Now on Atkins I use one egg and use the Atkins bake mix instead of the crrackers. I don't measure but it is probably around 3/4 cup. I also leave the bones in (wonderful source of calcium) I just mash the bones up with the meat. You can also add some salt and pepper if you want but I usually do not add any spices.
