My ap does not have an expiration date on it. My ap expires the day before we get there but i have purchased the renewal. Can they tell when I check in that my card expires the day before.

If you have purchased the renewal..then your card should scan as active.

I am asking this in general then. How do they know if anyone who has a ap card is expired or not. The new ones don't have expiration dates. How can they tell if they are expired or not. Second thought would the hotels really care? Hummm!!!

Are you asking about this because you have a APH rate booked at the hotel? After reading your posts, that's the idea I got. If so, I don't think you will have any trouble. They haven't even asked to see my AP when I have checked in and have a APH rate. Plus, if you have purchased the renewal, I can't imagine you would have a problem.
