Hi guys!
A few of you mentioned wanting to read my essay, so im posting up via a blog as i don't know if the board could handle it!

Just a few words of warning.
1) It's 3000 words long (approximatly 8 pages of 12pt type) I completely understand that people do not want to read something that long, and you really don't have to.
2) It's not always that nice about Disney, i had to be critical, if you are looking for an essay on how wonderful the place is, this isnt it (even if i do love Disney myself)
3) Everything is footnoted, but i doubt it will work on here, if you want to see my footnotes then please ask.
4) My sentance structure etc. isn't always great (boarderline dyslexia) and i only get a pass/ fail mark on this (so no need to do any corrections! :)), i also wrote it slightly rushed (due to the date due being changed, but this has been accounted for)

If you guys want to read, then go ahead, if not i understand! Also if im not meant to be posting to a blog, you can get rid of this thread and i'll send PM's to anyone interested!

heck I'll read it... in between doing a lot of nothing this morning (re cleaning house) I'll throw it up and go though it.

Yeah, you can tell the title was written by someone who knows what they are talking about (e.g. not me!) :lmao:

Very Impressive. I hope you get a Pass +. I don't know if that is a real grade but I can tell you really worked hard on it!!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

ok, there are a couple factual things that are semi-not exactly, but not important enough to correct...

the part on The way that Disney Re-Tells a story is excellent... if you read the original versions on which many of the stories are based, they are very Aesop's fable or brother's grimm where there is not a happy ending. Much like the nursery rhyme "ring around the rosie" is about the plague... or anything by roald dahl is pretty freakin scary and creepy and not really children's stories.

But they are making a movie of Where the Wild things Are, with john goodman as the monster... excellent casting for that role.

I skimmed your essay and read alot of it. It is apparent that you put a great deal of hard work in on a pass/fail paper. (I wouldn't have.) ha :rotfl:

So good job! Your research was well done and your paper was very interesting!

Yeah, if i had my foot notes in a put a link to the original grimms tales (that we happened to look at in History, which was very convient!) Cinderella's toes get cut off! Yuck! Roald Dahl did a version much closer to the truth! ;)

cool, I learn a lot of stuff..I'm curious though what are you studying at university? it seems very interesting

I am studying History, however we get to pick an elective each term outside of our own subject. I chose American studies this term, and chose Psychology last term. I think im going to pick American studies for next year too, when it starts to mean proper marks. I get the choice of the American Civil war (which i have done and loved 2 years ago, and would love to learn more!) or America in the 20th century (another history one, which looks really interesting!).

You guys better be around to help me :)

Your mom here!

Wow - I know I might be biased but what a great essay. I really enjoyed reading it (but you know I love Disney and DIS too!!) I thought you spent all your time on DIS boards and virtually no time doing University work. I stand corrected - can't believe offspring of mine could produce something like that!

If you produce essays like that for the next 2 years - you'll be on line for a great degree!!!!!

Well done.

There really is no firm evidence that the ring around the rosie rhyme is about the plague. It is an interpretation relatively recently devised, around 1951. Wikipedia has a little documented information on this, if you're interested...not that Wikipedia is the be-all and end-all of information sources, but they do quote some sources. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_a_Ring_o'_Roses
