Wondering what the people here think of where we are eating, and there is a couple of lunches I am not sure if we want to keep. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

We are going Feb 2-7 and it will be our honeymoon. We are staying at AKL and have the deluxe dining plan plus mem maker.

Feb 2 (golf and early check in)
Lunch: Sanna
Dinner: Citricos

Feb 3 (Hollywood studios)
Mamma Melrose
Artist point

Feb 4 (Epcot)
Lunch: San Angel *
Dinner: Yahtsman

Feb 5 (Magic Kingdom)
Lunch: Grand Floridian Cafe *
Dinner: Narcossee

Feb 6 (Animal Kingdom)
Lunch: Yak and Yeti *
Dinner: Jiko

Like I said we are good when it comes to the Sig dinners, but the lunches we are not too sure about. We are looking forward to Sanna, and Mama Melrose is one of the only table services we have not tried (did Brown Derby, 50s, and Sci-Fi) that is in Hollywood Studios. Our big thing is to try and do things we have not done before. At Epcot we ate the table service in Germany, England, France Japan, and Morroco. It does not seem worth it to leave the Park for lunch since there are so much there to eat. San Angel was kind of throwing a dart at the board of things we haven't done yet. On Magic Kingdom day our first choice was BOG, but it was booked, we have never eaten a table service there (we are not interested in eating at the castle). We have eaten at Grand Floridian Cafe before, but it was an enjoyable experience and don't mind going again, but we can be easily talked out of it. I have heard good things about Yak and Yeti, but my heart is not set on it. I believe with the deluxe dining plan we get an appetizer and when you eat at a buffet you lose that. We have eaten at Rain forest cafe and don't really want to go back there. AK just has very little to offer when it comes to sit downs.

I would like to stay in the parks if we can, but if we take the monorail or a boat it won't be too bad because it is a nice experience (why Grand Floridian Cafe got defaulted to). Being on the deluxe meal plan I refuse to waste credits on a QS.

And last question. I have never stayed at a deluxe before (could never justify the cost, but you only have one honeymoon) and we have always stayed at Port Orleans. At Orleans they have those really good pastries we would use our snack credits on for breakfast in the morning. Does AKL have any 'musts' as far as snacks go that I am not aware of? Or even past the food part, is there any cool things I should know about AKL before I go?

First off, congratulations on your upcoming Honeymoon.
I haven't been to WDW recently enough to really advise on which reservations you should keep, etc.
BUT I wanted to recommend you check out the Animal Kingdom Lodge thread on the Disney resorts message board. Lots of pictures and tips!

CONGRATS on your honeymoon and marriage... yay!

We love Yak and Yeti. We have been there twice. Their apps are consistently good. My fiance likes the sweet and sour chicken and I have heard that their won ton dessert is amazing. We really like the ahi tuna nachos which are an app.

Have you thought about trying Kona or Whispering Canyon for lunch instead? You could always do QS for lunch if you're not opposed and don't want to leave the park. Oh, and the Wave at the Contemporary gets pretty good reviews (we've never been but we would like to try). We really liked Kona for breakfast but we haven't done it for lunch yet.

We stayed at AKL recently and we loved it! Outside of Sanaa they have a big area where you can watch the animals. Cute rocking chairs and a firepit. We would've spent more time there but it was raining the night we planned to spend at the resort!

A lot of people rave about Zebra Domes which are at Boma (fantastic for breakfast btw), and also in the quick service places and shops at the resort. I tried them and they were not really my thing but a lot of people really like them.

Sanaa has awesome bread service as an app.

Yak & Yeti isn't a buffet. Are you confusing it with Boma? Menu for Y&Y lunch: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/animal-kingdom/yak-and-yeti-restaurant/menus/

Definitely check out the AKL thread in Resorts. The guest-only safari is a fun perk ($), and watching the animals with night vision goggles is fun. Also: Flamingos near the pool.
