What does everyone thing? Is there any place that you think we should try and trade one of these in for?? Any comments on the shows?

Wow. That's a pretty ambitious eating plan, especially with two small children. I get the impression that you're really trying to jam in a lot of food.

We've been to all but three of the restaurants, and all of the shows. The shows should keep the attention of your young ones, and they should do o.k. with the menus.

When we did a 10-day trip on the dining plan a couple of years ago, at about day seven we were both looking at each other trying to figure out how to get out of the ADR and just do something like fries and a burger at McDonalds somewhere. You've got basically three sit down meals every day on your list. I'd lighten up a couple of lunches for the kids so they can sit and watch people walk by and munch on fries, and feed the ducks fries and popcorn.

My $.02 anyways.

Jim.

Wouldn't bother with 1900 PF unless your staying at the GF, we went for both breakfast and dinner in the first week of November and it was average at best. Probably the worst meals of our holiday although the entertainment at the dinner was excellent.

I agree. We always do a CS lunch and TS dinner and it seems like we are really pushed for time. Seems like a lot of food to me, however, the choices look really good. My kids loved the H & V breakfast! :wizard:

that's an ambitious schedule for food. I'm sure you want to get the value from the Deluxe DP, but are you leaving any time for fun?

I am going for 7 days, but I am only making 5 reservations during that time. The rest, I'll leave up to chance. I wouldn't want to have to cut short any activities because I have a scheduled meal.

Just my opinion...

It does defintely look like you made good choices in restaurant and I'm sure you'll be enjoying some really great food! :)

I know it sounds horrible, but most of the choices are for the characters, environment, and experience. I doubt we will eat that much but are more for variety. There are about 7 or 8 we really want to do and for the price of the 8 it ends up being the same price its costing us to do the dining plan.
We were able to get all breakfasts in before park opening.
I noticed last time we were at disney my kids were early risers even though they went to bed late because we are going longer this time we will not be as rushed.
It might make you laugh but last time my kids complained because they didnt like our breakfast on the go they wanted sit down breakfast. My kids are big eaters but now I am wondering if I should change it, but many of them my kids really wanted to do and there is a few I really wanted to do and I also don't know when we will be able to go to disney again so i wanted to get all the shows and character meals in.

I am so confused now.

No one knows your kids better than you. If they like to sit down and enjoy a meal with characters, by all means I say let them. My DD11 and I thoroughly enjoy the restaurant experience just as much as the rest of the world. :-)

If you are iffy on some of the restaurants, you can always cancel them that day and find some CS or walk up TS place instead that catches your fancy. But, if you are doing the DXDP, I wouldn't cancel any ressies unless I was positive I didn't want to eat there.

I am planning on making our ADR's at beginning of year, (intended end of May trip, but have to wait and make sure) and we are going to use the DxDP this time. We hope to do a TS for bfast or lunch and then mainly signatures or dinner shows at night. Have a few credits in the bucket for last minute CS or TS and I think we are set.

If you don't think you are going to be making it back, then I would say live it up and go to the restaurants your kids and yourself want to go to. They are only young once and through tragic personal experience, I have learned that sometimes you wish there are things you would have done before it was too late. :goodvibes Have fun!

Have you considered either late breakfasts or early lunches and then a signature (2 credit) restaurant. I found with my kids that getting up early for breakfast was not a good thing by the end of the week.

When we went last time we ate lunch around 11:00 and then supper around 5 or 6. For breakfast they grabbed something (poptart, banana, etc.) in the room and ate as we went to the parks. This allowed them to sleep later and be in better moods throughout the day.

Sounds like you will have ample time to have fun and relax. I hope you have a great trip.:thumbsup2

And we went 11/16 for dinner and it was the best meal of our trip! Also enjoyed 'Ohana breakfast, SciFi lunch, and Chef Mickey's dinner. 'Ohana dinner was ok, and didn't really enjoy Coral Reef at all.

Everyone needs to try restaurants for themselves! The meals are a big part of our trip, a great way to relax and see characters. I say go for it and have fun!
