I am so upset. We have been having record heat here in Florida, as many parts of the US have had odd weather. Normally I can have my A/C off for at least 2 months of the year, but this winter season we have had it running most of the time.
The last few times I put it on I found the air to be warm and yesterday inside the house was over 80 degrees so I broke down and called an A/C co., thinking it might need a shot of freon. Nope. It is dead. The whole system needs to be replaced and it will cost me almost $5,000. I know the system was getting older, but I really didn't expect a new one to cost so much. I don't have the money and I am worried about what to do.
Guess I am just looking a bit of DIS sympathy. At least they are expecting a little cool front this week and temperatures to be in the high 60's which is much more tolerable then today's 84.

to you. Having a/c down here isn't a luxury, it's a necessity.
