My 4 yo hates Buzz???

On our last trip to WDW, my daughter who in the past loved Buzz, proclaimed she wouldn't go on it because "it goes backwards". We tried to tell her we how we control the way the car spins, but being a very stubborn prschooler would have no part of it. We didn't push it, and went about our business. Then again at the Haunted Mansion..."it goes backwards, I'm NOT going on". OK, now I'm thinking how can she possibly remember this stuff...I can barely remember that. Next day, EPCOT, "The Big Ball", "I am absolutely not going on that", you guessed it, "It goes backwards". Have you ever heard of this???? Not it's too loud, too dark, too scary. Anyway, kids. Well we head back again in 3 weeks and would personally like to go on 3 of my favorite attractions, we are all hoping she'll forget. Any suggestions on this one? I'm not going to push her...maybe trick her, hehehe

Are kids not so funny?Sounds like it is a big deal to her though. Perhaps you could try some advance preparation.Try pulling her backwards in her wagon or pushing her backwards in grocery cart.If she still rides in a stroller try pushing that backwards.Also for the Buzz ride try watching the movie a lot.If she is so excited about buzz perhaps she will forget about going backwards.LOL.Kids never forget but it's worth a try. There is always baby swap to allow the rest of you to do the things you want to do.Have a good trip

Maybe riding backwards gives her vertigo. It's so hard to tell with kids. Offer to let her turn around on her knees in the seat so she sould be riding forward. She is probably small enough that with your arm behind her the slow speed of the conveyor belt rides she would be safe doing this. You're right, I've never heard of this one. Don't count on her forgetting about it though. Good luck!

My 11 year old DD doesn't like going backwards either. She says she feels like she is going to fall out at Spaceship Earth, but she is really excited about TOT, go figure.

Kids go through phases like this all the time. Two years ago, my nephew (then 3 1/2) refused to go on any ride until after we all assured him we weren't going to "get shrunk" on it. Apparently, he didn't like that aspect of the "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience" attraction. We were surprised that he even knew what was going on. Anyway, we're headed back again this December and he still remembers that attraction and wants nothing to do with it!

Auntie Carol's rule is that nobody, no matter what their age may be, has to go on anything they don't want to go on. And nobody has to explain why either. We just use the baby swap option if the "reluctant rider" is a small child (but we don't tell them that is the name of it). I just cringe when I see someone forcing an obviously upset child to go on a ride. Just don't think that is right. Now we have certainly encouraged the little ones to try a ride when we think they will really it, but they always get to make the "go/no go" decision on rides.

Thanks everyone for great tips...I will try all. I love Auntie Carol's rule. I definately won't push, I just find it curious.....this is a 4 yo that loves Snow Whites SCARY adventure.
