I think your oral surgeon/dentist would recommend what he/she feels is best. If you feel comfortable with the health provider, then trust the decision. I had mine out at age 19, 3 crooked, one impacted with just sedation so I could keep my mouth relaxed that long and locals and it was completely fine, but I have never had any fear of the dentist. My relaxed mien at the dentist might have dictated the drug choices, I don't know.
I had no pain during the extractions, and healed easily, went Christmas shopping the next day looking like a chipmunk. (Chip or Dale?).
