What a coincidence that I found this topic at the present...I'm actually wearing my 2008 WDW t-shirt as I type this!!!
I didn't win anything as a part of the giveaway but I will admit the vacation was a dream come true for me. I was coming off the worst period of my life (in which I lost my beloved dog in August 07, was forced out of an organization by a man who publicly belittled me, and went through personal crisis as I attempted to rebuild in the aftermath of these events) and really needed the vacation. My fortunes reversed as soon as I got off I-4 at the WDW exit. For one week I was very happy and had the chance to explore new things while reliving my youth (the best part of WDW).
Probably the biggest dream come true was finally going to Blizzard Beach. We were going to take a WDW vacation in 1997 but cancelled our plans because half the family came down with pneumonia. My mom told me about the Summit Plummet and I was going to do it back then. We didn't get to BB in either 2000 or 2005 (the years we have gone since 1997) but this time around I finally got to experience the water park after 11 years of waiting. And yes, the slide was worth it!
As a bonus I got my mom to ride Tower of Terror after she vowed to never ride it again in 1995. This time around she loved it! In fact, we did it again and the last time we were downtown together we were in an elevator and she said she wanted to ride it right then!
I took my vacation the week of Mother's Day and went with my mom. I was with my friends last time I went but now that I'm an older and more mature individual I realize nothing beats the family.
I'll be returning to WDW in 2010 and can't wait. I'm actually planning the vacation already and am even thinking about a 2013 trip.
