Hi there

I'm scared a little because this will be my first trip traveling ALONE:coffee: and my first trip to the U.S
so i have a few questions:

1- what should i wearlong sleeves or short heavy clothes or light in :santa: december :santa: from the 1st to the 7th of dec.?

2-how expensive is the gas becuase im gonne use a car since im staying
out side WDW?and any tips about driving??

3- can i go from a park to another in the same day if im using the days(4 or 5 day) package disney ticket:hourglass ?

.....thats what i think of.......for now....thanks

In December, you should be fine with short sleeves during the day with a light jacket at night. The weather should be very pleasant. We visited WDW in December of 1999 and we actually wore shorts some during the day. It got cold the night we went to MVMCP, but we just bought sweatshirts and were very comfortable. Check out www.weather dot com for historical temps.

As for gas prices, I don't know what gas costs in Florida, sorry.

If you have the park-hopping option on your tickets or package, you can visit all the parks in one day if you choose, but only if you have the park hopper option.

Hope that helps!

What country are you from? If it's England or Australia, my experience is that gas prices will be cheaper than you're use to. I'm in Maryland and prices are currently $2.70 a gallon. HTH

Wherever you are from you may do gas in liters, and I believe 3 liters are in a gallon. We were in Canada and my DH wanted to empty the stores of their gas cans to get extra gas to take back to Michigan, until he figured out that gas is more in Canada when you do the math!

I had a friend that went to Florida in November and had to buy herself a coat, so be sure to bring a sweater or two and a light jacket and you should be fine.

We complain alot about gas here because until about 10 years ago it was only a little over a dollar a gallon, so three times that gets to us. I believe England has been five times more than us for about 20 years. We are just slow catching up to reality!

About the driving tips- Get ready for slow, older drivers who go about 5 under the speed limit. The rest of the country is not that way. Stay on the right side of the road, your gas tank may be on the opposite side of the car than you are used to. The steering wheel too. I think something that is different here than most countries is that right hand turns on red are permitted unless there is a sign saying "no right turn on red". If there is no left turn signals, be sure to yeild the right of way to oncoming traffic,

Pay no attention to my tag, the stop signs are not optional! My drivers ed teacher just told me that!
That is the ole Michigan Roll, do not attempt unless you get acquainted with our system. I am from Detroit, and our motto is "Lead, Follow or get out of the way!".

Have fun and welcome to the US!! We are not nearly as uptight and war mongering as our Democratic senators would like you to think! They are just trying to win elections, and you know their motto, anything for a soundbite!

I thought stop stood for: Slow To Optional Pause. ;)

Faisal,

1. December weather in Florida is influenced by cold fronts from the north. If there has been no front recently it will be warm bordering on hot. If a front comes through then there is usually a day of rain followed by cool weather, warming back each day afterwards. You should be prepared for both warm and cool weather in early December.

2. You can always see what our gas prices are by visiting: www.orlandogasprices.com Looking at it today, the lowest prices are $2.55/gallon with most locations in the low $2.60's. For the attractions area select Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee or Orlando South to narrow the search. Except for a few rip-off gas stations, the prices around Disney are usually very good. There are 3 HESS stations on Disney property too that have very fair prices.

3. You can only go from one park to another during the same day if the tickets have the PARK HOPPER option. That is something you have to pay extra for. If you don't have this feature, then the answer is NO.

LOL! According to my Drivers ed teacher Mr. King (hopefully he is retired now or he will be out of a job) that is what it stands for, but if it has the white border, it is just plain optional!:thumbsup2

He also instructed me to play chicken with a MAC truck, and "forgot" to test me for the official Michigan Drivers License test on the pesky parallel parking part! I have never had to do that for any state test! I am a fraud! I am soooo not cleared on Parallel Parking! Lucky for OP, I will not be in Florida when they are!

For those of you who reside in Kansas City, be afraid, be very afraid!

If you are buying UK tickets then many automatically include park hopping options.

Thats right...I'm in Australia and have just converted our petrol price into USD. Based on the price I paid yesterday it was 1.07USD per litre. There is 3.78 litres in a gallon. Wow thats expensive.

some of the tolls don't have people to make change, we found this out the hard way when i had put all of our loose change in a suitcase in the trunk and came to a toll that only accepted quarters. and don't get into any lanes that say sun pass only. tolls are always a pain. they are nothing new here in NJ but people still try to put dollar bills into "exact change only" bins, cracks me up. just keep those quarters handy!!!!!
have a wonderful trip!!
ps-I was there about the same time last Dec and was FREEZING the whole time. you just never know...

PrincessBelle39 : a dollar is for a liter is a lot but its better than taking the taxi all the time.

ehrn : i know i never use the change when im traveling ...maybe i should.
i will take winter clothes since im going west after orlando so ishould
be fine.
