We have booked to go to DLP this November 2008, we decided to go at this time for the Christmas Theme.
I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions for me?

1) How much spending money would you suggest for 2 adults and a 3 yr old?
(Does £300 sound enough) ???

(We are staying 4 nights 5 days and we basically need money for lunch & dinner also would like to buy my daughter a couple of small gifts eg... minnie mouse teddy, minnie ears, pens, lolly etc....
We would also like to get the underground for one afternoon to Paris to go on the Eiffle Tower)

2) What is the cheapest way to book a Character Meal?? Can you book it when you are there??
I would like to have either a Character Tea / or Character Lunch...
I would like to buy a Birthday cake for my daughters 3rd Birthday....
How do i go about that???
How much are they?? and what do they look like???

3) What Parades are on during the Xmas Theme?? Do they still do the Electrical Parade?? ( i remember it from when i was younger)

I am so so grateful for your help.
Thank you

The cheapest character meal is the character tea at plaza gardens and they do birthday cakes there for £7 i think on top of the price to get in which i think is £9 per person (regardless of age (under 3's free)) I'm sure someone will correct me if im mistaken, they do a buffet with mostly sweet foods and a few hash browns sausages eggs and so on. sorry can't help with the other things you asked!:goodvibes

Thankyou very much for the info ;)

Does anyone know whether i book the Birthday cake with the Character Tea or do i order it on the day when im there??
£7 seems a very reasonable price for a birthday cake.... My daughter will LOVE IT!!!! cant wait!!!

i allow 60 euros for evening meals. however, if your daughter is 2 she will get a buffet tea for free so you could do cafe agrabah or plaza gardens quite cheaply.
i try to avoid lunches by filling up at breakfast and buying snacks at auchan but it's hard to buy lunch for less than 25 euro.
the RER station sells day tickets which i think are 18 euro. you can also buy tickets which include metro travel for a tiny amount more and your dd will be free but there are no lifts for buggies on the metro.
it's a 15 minute walk to the eiffel tower from charles de gaulle etoile RER station which allows you to see the arc de triomphe and some of the shops on the champs de l'elysee.
there can be long queues to go up to the top so maybe an early morning trip would be better before the backpackers wake up?
if you tell your dd you will buy her a gift on the last day you might be able to avoid spending loads on gifts.
during the christmas season the fantillusion parade is on but it might only be weekends in november.
the earlier parade will have a special christmas float at the end with santa's sleigh pulled by real reindeer!

it's best to book the cake when you book the tea. they seat you in a special area and you get lots of attention from the characters.

don't quote me on the prices, i could be wrong!
A quick search will clear it up!

Oh thank you Miffy you have been so helpful ;)
Do you think its better to book the Character Tea & Birthday cake with the holiday package or is it cheaper and easier to do it from your hotel once you arrive???

Oh thank you mulan1 thats really kind of you..... answers all my questions

you're welcome! glad i can be helpful too!

to be honest i would phone the reservation line to book as that way you don't have to pay and you can change your mind
buuuut
if you pay in advance you more or less walk straight in instead of waiting in a queue to be taken over to pay.

Or, you can pop into the restaurant earlier in the day to book in advance, or even City Hall when you first enter the park - they take bookings there for all the park restaurants.
