My 1st glitch as a DVC member! BWV preferred view ???s

Hi!
I just got off of an hour phone call with member services (Janet was great, she was almost as nervous as I was!) re: my needing to change my dates due to a sister's graduation.
Well I was able to change my 6 day BCV reservation for June 21 (2 br) to a 6 day BWV preferred view reservation for June 28.
The only thing is I never expected to stay anywhere else but the BCVs and I don't know much about the BWVs!

What is considered a preferred view? Is there any specific preferred view that you all enjoy that I may request?

Perferred view will be a view that overlooks one of the pool areas or the canal.

If the perferred view was also guaranteed as a Boardwalk-view, you would be overlooking the boardwalk and the lake.

Standard view overlooks the driveway and pond on the end of the building (still very nice views).

Our favorite perferred view is that of the quiet pool. If you can snag a first floor, quiet pool view we consider that the jackpot because it gives our kids quick access to the pool and Community Hall.

Did she say if your reservation was preferred-boardwalk or preferred-garden/pool? Probably at this late date it's garden/pool. I think the quiet pool is a good choice, I prefer upper floors.

You scared me a bit by calling it a "glitch"...I thought DVD had messed something up for you!

Glad to see that you were able to make the switch. Others have explained the preferred view, which is most like the pool/garden view. We've had the quiet pool and can say that we like it a lot. Others have enjoyed the Luna pool (main pool) view and loved it. Or the canal view down by the Swan resort.

You'll have a great time...enjoy your trip!

No, she didn't say what the view would be and I didn't think to ask, I was just happy to get the reservation!
I really liked the quiet pool view at the BCVs so I'm sure I'd like that view at the Boardwalk.
When we walked to MGM along the water, is that called the canal?
If so, that was a beautiful spot, are those villas considered preferred view? If so I think I'd like to request a canal view or quiet pool view.

That is the canal and the nice thing about staying on that side of the BWV is the ability to cut out of a "back door" and get directly on that walkway to MGM. You can save a lot of time doing so.
