My 19 month old needs your prayers

Our son is having tubes put in and an adenoidectomy at 7:30 tomorrow morning. I am starting to get very anxious about it. My husband said he will probably get very emotional when they have to take our son away into surgery. We certainly believe and have experienced first hand the wonderful power of prayers. Thank you in advance. You all are a life line for me daily. I appreciate you all very much.

A prayer said. My youngest had tubes when she was about 8 months, it was hard when they took her away. They did bring her back pretty quickly and I was with her when she woke up. The results were wonderful and well worth the experience.

My son had both of those procedures and a tonsilectomy (sp?) at the same time. I felt extremely guilty because the tonsilectomy was "optional" - if you consider them swollen to the point of almost touching "optional".

Both of the procedures your child is having are routine. You will be amazed at the improvement in your child's general health after recovery. I know it's hard when it is your child and there is nothing routine about your child having procedures done.

Prayers and PD are with you. I work at a surgery center and you won't believe how fast the little ones recover from that surgerical procedure! It is hard to let go when they go into surgery but it is not a long procedure although it may feel like forever.

My friend's adopted baby had this procedure done last year. They were total wrecks but the baby rebounded like a champ!

She was born to an addict and had serious breathing problems all of her life. She is a big and beautiful 4 year old now and the light of their lives.

I'll keep you and your little one in my prayers. I had both these procedures done when I was little and it really helped with all the ear infections I had been getting.

You ARE doing the right thing! The little one will feel so much better in the long run, and you'll be very glad you did this.

But those parental instincts to hold, cuddle, love, and protect sure do make us feel nervous and helpless at times.

Just know that YOU will feel the agony, and the little one will feel only the relief.

Relax your child will be just fine!!! DS had tubes put in 3 times, then an adenoidectomy, followed by a tonsillectomy, followed by a mastoidectomy (not to mention the numerous Cat scans, xrays blood work!!). It didn't phase him in the least. His first tubes were at 16 months. Just remember that the tubes make them feel better and the adenoidectomy hopefully will prevent recurrent ear infections. In our case if tubes had been put in earlier it would have avoided alot of the subsequent surgeries. Kids are tougher that we give them credit . My DS is now 15 and doesnt even remember all the surgeries!!
