We arrived here late Thursday evening (10/23/03) approximately 7:30 PM. We checked in immediately, there was no wait. Our room was in the Jazz Building on the 2nd floor facing what you may consider the garden area. It was close to the main building, food court, pool and bus stop, mostly, it was a very quiet area. We had two rooms, one King and one Double (for the kids). We stayed here before for 6 nights at the Broadway Building and didnt mind it, however, since the twins I dont think I could do it for longer than a night or two now. I was never a huge fan of the All Star Resorts mainly because the rooms are tiny and they dont use glassware (so Im a plastic snob, sue me!
) Actually, I think that for the money we paid this was definitely worth it for the one night considering all we did was eat, sleep, shower and check out. There is no privacy if you were to stay there with your children or other adults so be aware of that. The pools are nice, but they do not have slides and they are very busy even at night. Oh and I might mention this, the King Rooms double as handicapped rooms, I think. The bathroom was definitely geared towards handicapped, it had a sliding door (that had no lock) and the handrails on the sides of the tub. Im not sure if all of them are like this, but this one was. My summary is this, the rooms were clean and neat (although one of our soap dispensers in the shower didnt work, had to wash myself with shampoo, lol), the staff is super friendly, the bus service was great (only used it once but it was prompt), the baggage transfer was quick and easy, food court had nice food (see my restaurant reviews), the beds were not so comfy, but okay for one night, they do not have Mickey Shampoo and Bath Soap, however, they do give you Mickey Hand Soap. My children certainly liked it there (they dont care where they stay, theyre in Disney) my husband didnt mind and neither did I. If you are looking for an inexpensive resort (using Mickey Math of course!) with no frills but family oriented, busy and very friendly, then the All Stars are for you! All in all, would I stay here again, sure for one or two nights at the most.
