Do you have to use a day of your park hopper if you do ONLY the party? We are thinking of going to WDW during that time of year (2005), and I am trying to plan out my days/nites and dollars! I saw a reference to MVMCP on another tread that said basically "don't waste a park hopper day on a MVMCP day". To me, that sounds like if you don't enter a park before the party, you will not lose a day of your park hopper. We want to spend a resort day, and if this is true it would be perfect!!!! TIA!!!
No you do not have to use one of your park days. When you purchase your ticket for MVMCP that allows you admission to the park usually about 4 PM the night you are going.
That is SUPER!!!! We are taking my parents (their 1st trip), and we want to make it a spectacular trip for them (and us!). I am going to splurge on a wishes cruise, and now I think I will be sure to do the party also. I have read by most posters that it is VERY uncrowded during the party, but a couple have said that it is PACKED! Any info?!!!
We have been the past 3 out of the last 4 years and are planning again this year.
We have always experienced low crowds. However, we have always gone to a party on a week night and avoid the weekend ones. Also, we skip the first parade and do rides and shows then stay for the late parade.
I would definitely have MVMCP as a must do if you go at that time of year. The atmosphere, shows and parade alone are worth the ticket price for me.

It may have been the night they went. Friday nights usually sellout, therefore they are the most crowded. Many people with young children see the first parade, they find a spot early. The rest of the park is pretty empty until the first parade ends. We always head back to Fantasyland first and walkon everything. Get your photo done first, lines get long later.
We have entered MK around 4:30 on MVMCP ticket only and did not have to use a day on our park hoppers. You go to a table by City Hall after entering and show them your MVMCP ticket and they give you a wrist band to let CM'S know you are a party guest.
