I just booked the AS sports hotel for Dec.1 -4th now onto MVMCP BUT a few questions before I do so....

Looking at Thursday Dec. 2nd for MVMCP
How crowded is the party?

What time do the close MK to day guests?

Are the other parks completely quiet on the party nights and do they close early too?

I guess I just want to make sure it's worth the money and time. We have APs and this dec. trip will be our 5th this yr. Last yr we went Dec. 25-28 loved it BUT I want to enjoy the decor but not the crowds this yr.

And on a final note: My DH is NOT a disney lover and I am trying to convert him!

The crowd should not be that bad as that is one of the earlier parties (the later in December you get the more crowded the parties get) Plus it's a Thursday.

MK closes to day guests at 6pm on party nights. However they allow party guests to come into MK as early as 4pm with just the party ticket. If you arrive at or after 4pm they will give you a wristband at the turnstiles and advise you that at 6pm you need to head to Fantasyland and/or Tomorrowland (they use one, the other or both) and wait there until the party offically starts at 7pm. This way they can clear the park of the day guests while the party guests are playing in Fantasyland and/or Tomorrowland (the rides will be open in those lands for you). If you choose to use your AP and come to the park early you can, wristbands are issued usually at the front entrance, City Hall, The Castle Hub, Splash Down Photos and Merchants of Venus (or whatever that is called these days). You will just exchange you party ticket for the wristband with the CM's in one of those locations.

The other parks tend to be busy on party nights because MK closes early people will head over to the other parks to see Illuminations and/or Fantasmic. Epcot is always open until 9pm with Illuminations, and MGM may or may not be open late (but probably will be)

Epcot closing & Illuminations is at 9:30 in December, due to the Candlelight Processional ending late.

MGM usually closes at 7:00 on weekdays early in the month.
