You should definetly try to go. We went last year and had a blast. You can get in the park around 5:00 when everyone else is leaving. Try to go on a week day. It's not a busy. You get a nice family picture that you can use for Christmas cards. The day we went we didn't go to the parks during the day. Just the evening. Did DTD during the day and took in the pool and nap in the afternoon. That way we were ready for the evening. Just make sure to take a coat, sometimes its get cold.
I totally agree with Donna Brick. GO, GO, GO. We went last year on a Tuesday night and had the best time. You can get on the rides with hardly any wait time at all. Definatley go on a week night though. It is well worth the money!!!
Here is a paragraph from www.guide2wdw.com - "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be held on November 28 and 30 and December 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 17, 2004. Tickets can be ordered by calling 407-W-Disney or visiting the Disney World website. The only way to get a discount on your tickets are to order them in advance. The price is $36.95 in advance for adults and $42.95 same day. Tickets for children ages 3-9 are $26.95 in advance and $32.95 same day."
Hopefully this is reliable information. I agree with the others that if you can go, then definitely go! It is a wonderful time!
I could only go on December 12. My 30th birthday is December 13 and the last full day of our trip (we are leaving on the 14th). I really wanted to be in the park on my birthday. How late is the party and what time is the parade. I'm afraid that my 6yo dd and my 1yo ds will want to sleep in on my Bday. Is go MVMCP worth missing a full day at the park on my big day?
jmcdc - I'm not sure what your asking exactly but I'll try to answer your question. MVMCP is a separate ticketed event from the normal park visit and runs from 7 PM to midnight. Here is a website with more info - http://allearsnet.com/tp/hol_mk.htm .
What makes it attractive for people to attend is that there are special shows and parades not shown during the normal park hours and the number tickets is limited so the park shouldn't become over-crowded.
I think the parade runs twice, around 9 and 11:30 PM and the fireworks (which are spectacular) start at 10PM. So you could leave after the fireworks and maybe get to sleep at a decent hour.
Do you also need your regular park admission for the MVMCP? And another question - do you have to get your wristbands before the park closes at 5? Or can you show your MNMCP ticket at the entry turnstiles to enter after 6? What I mean is, if you are not planning on going to the MK the day of the party until that night, can you just enter at the time for the actual MVMCP? Hope this is clear; I am just trying to figure out if we have to use a day of our park hoppers that day.
If you only attend MVMCP and enter the park after 4pm. you will not need to use a park hopper or AP.
I think this is well worth it, since you are basically getting 8 hours in the park for the cost of your MVMCP ticket. Plus there will be less people and all the special activities and free cocoa and cookies.
