how many hours does it last? I'm trying to "ebay my way to Disney World" (well, actually, I'm trying to earn enough to pay for my grown DD and my granddaughter too) and I'd love to buy tickets to this event, but know little to nothing about it..

Could someone be so kind as to fill me in?

Thanks!;)

2 years ago, I believe it was 8-midnight. (Not posiitve, but that sounds right)

The best part.. the snow down main street! Yes they made it snow down main street! Where else but Disney could you enjoy snow in FL and now have the whole state shut down for an emergency? (okay.. it was soap bubbles but still - IT SNOWED DOWN MAIN STREET!) Oh.. and the parade in the snow down main street was awesome too. :p

I thought the best part was the perimeter fireworks. They had the regular fantasy in the sky show, and then set off fireworks all the way around the park (imagine sitting in the middle of a clock with simultaneous fireworks going off at each number around the clock). It was pretty cool. I had thought we would spend a lot of time at rides, but ended up going to shows almost the entire party.

Have fun.

There's lots of great information at this link (http://wdwig.com/hol_mk.htm) on MVMCP.

As far as cost, it's $38.29 per adult and $27.64 per child ages 3-9. Those are both taxes included. The tickets are REALLY cute and "keepers" themselves!

I believe the hours for MVMCP are 7 p.m. - Midnight. I think they close MK at 5 p.m. to get ready for the party. You also get a group portrait that's mailed to your home a couple of weeks later, not to mention complimentary cookies and hot chocolate! Then there's the two special parades, the fireworks, and all of the special shows. Plus ticket sales are limited, so hopefully the crowds aren't bad.

We're going for the first time on Dec. 2nd this year, but I've done a lot of research on this. We're kind of on a budget, but this just sounded too good to pass up!!

Good luck with your ebaying!

LOL - I hear you loud and clear about the "budget" part.. This is going to be my Christmas gift to my DD and granddaughter, so I'm trying to earn enough money on eBay to pay for everything - and I DO mean EVERYTHING!!! Just spent a couple of hours on Deb's Unofficial Disney site pouring over the menus so I would know how much to budget for food, etc..

I agree with your philosophy - if you're going to be in Disney World to see all the Christmas decorations anyhow, the MVMCP is an absolute MUST and I don't think the cost is really all that bad..

Thanks for the link!!;) Maybe we'll see you there!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

It's from 7 to Midnight and they close the park from 6:00p to 7:00p to get it ready and cleared out.

Here's some highlights from previous parties:

- Free Family Photo & Pin
- Princesses behind Castle with Cinderella's carriage
- Special Fireworks around 9:15p
- Two Christmas parades around 8:30p and 11:00p
- Christmas shows:
Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas
Belle's Enchanted Christmas
Country Bears Christmas Show
Diamond Horseshoe (Miss Minnie's Country Christmas)
Every Day is a Holiday (Castle forecourt)
- Snow on Main street
- Free hot chocolate and cookie stands
- Dumbo's (ride) have Santa hats!

That's all I can think of!

It's a little cheaper to buy ahead but you pay $3. shipping (and I think you can 'will call' but not sure). Some nights do sell out.

We did this last December with our two DS's -- 8 & 2 at the time. We bought tickets for a Tuesday evening (12/17). The park was open until midnight, but then they had a closing show which lasted probably another 20-25 minutes.

By far, my favorite part was for my DS2 to have the opprotunity to ride Dumbo continuously. We never had to exit as there was no line waiting or just a couple of people towards the end of the evening. My DS thought that his little arm made Dumbo fly. It was probably a once in a lifetime experience.

We enjoyed it so much that on a whim, we bought tickets for the evening of 12/19 (Thursday). Crowds were much heavier and there was a longer wait for everything. The Jungle Cruise was not listed as one of the open attractions and we enjoyed riding that a couple of times in a row. In fact, my DS2 chose this as his final ride of the evening.

We will definately do this again probably on a Tuesday night in the hopes that crowds will be lighter. Well worth the money we spent. HGood luck on e-bay and have fun!

We have not missed going to MVMCP each year at least once and sometime twice since 1992.To us it is a magical nite and is now part of our Christmas tradition. You will have a great time and will have memories that will last a long time.:earsboy: :sunny:  :earsgirl:

Oh - this sounds like SOOOOOOO much fun!!!!

Are there any particular nights you all think I should NOT buy the tickets for?

And we don't have to use up a day from our park passes for this - correct?

Ooooooooooo - I'm getting so gosh darn excited.. Let's see - what else can I sell on eBay???????? LOL

A couple of CM's commented that a lot of the locals attend MVMCP on the weekends. We originally bought tickets for the 17th because when I called to buy them, the CM told me that date was before FL schools started winter break. When we went, Friday night was already sold out so I would think it was a higher traffic night.

The MVMCP ticket is a separate ticket. You do not need to use the park hopper pass to gain entry.

Also, I thought of another thing. The park will let you in prior to 7 pm. We went the second night about 5:30. Strolled over to Frontierland until it closed. Then they ushered us over to Tomorrowland which was only for MVMCP ticket holders. Rode Astro Orbiter and Buzz Lightyear. It wasn't overly crowded and at 7 pm they opened the rest of the attractions.

I'm sure you're going to have a great time.

Go on a Tuesday.

Make ps's IN MK (if you use your hopper that day) for 5:30ish. When you're done, you're there. NO CROWDS.

Highlights:

Walking through an empty adventureland to go to ride BTMRR 5 times in a row without exiting!

The parade.

Cinderella's carriage behind the castle, and the princesses show up for autographs!

The midnight show.

The fireworks.

Riding the rides over and over again.

The lights.

The parade.

The midnight show.

My 5 yo and I were there with a friend and her 3.5 year old. We were there from dinner until about 12:45. It was the highlight of that trip. (Fortunately, it wasn't the day of the deluge!)

The parade is absolutely the best WDW parade ever....I love the toy soldiers...I can hear them clop, clop, clop right now!!!
