MVMCP Tickets

If a DVC member buys these tickets, do you have to verify you are one to use them? Didn't know if they could buy them for others. Not much of a difference in price, but every penny saved is another Mickey Ice Cream! We have friends that are DVC members, and if they can get them for us, that would be great. But dont' want to chance it if it isn't "allowed". Thanks!

I don't see how it would be allowed. If you order them ahead and have them sent to your home, they will have the members name on them and if you pick up at will call, I expect they would ask to show your DVC membership card.

If they were going with you, I don't see that being a problem. We have AP's and could purchase for family since we were all going to be together, but we ended up going on a night with no discounts. This was for MVMCP ast year. I think we got the AP discount on our MNSSHP last year and had to give our card number.

Our experience from October 2008 was that my DVC friend was able to order tickets for us (and herself). She had to pick the tickets up at Guest Relations at the Magic Kingdom. And she had to have her DVC member card with her in order to receive the discount on the Party tickets.

I don't believe our cards had anyone's names on them. And even if they did, no one is going to ask you for ID when you come through the admission gates because you have a discounted ticket. Can you imagine how long that line would be if they did?

If your DVC friends are traveling with you, I'm sure they could purchase the discounted tickets for you. I'm not sure they can purchase them and have them mailed. In order to save every penny possible, there is no shipping charge if you pick up any ticket from WDW rather than having them mailed to you.

Oh yeah. One more thing. We now have our own DVC membership so we don't have to depend on the kindness of others.

I can't say for sure...but I just ordered MVMCP tickets a few days after they went on sale. They mailed me the tickets and their isn't even adult or child markings on them. There are no names. If you ordered them and had them sent to you...how would they know?

As a DVC member, I ordered my MNSSHP tickets and I ahve to pick them up at Will-Call and they won't mail them or send them to concierge for me to pick up. I need an ID and my member card to show.

If your friends are goign to be there too, then you can get them, otherwise they won't give them to you wihtout charging you more money.

I'm going to guess you did not get the DVC discount on these tickets. I believe that's what the OP was asking about.

No, I didn't. I was sharing that my mailed tickets had no names on them. I didn't realize the DVC tickets were different.

DVC tickets for certain nights are offered at a discount. I believe there is an AP discount for the same night.

Even CM discount days are the same as AP days.

Any time you order with a specific discount, you must show proof when getting the actual tickets. So even if your friend orders online, he won't be there to show proof of his DVC membership. Now if your friend was going at the same time as you, yes you can buy a certain number of discounted tickets for your party (family/friends). He would be the one to show proof and then pass the tickets out to every one in the group.

Same thing with booking AP hotel discount, you can book it and pay for it over the phone, but you have to either give them your Pass number or show your pass at the resort at check in. If you don't it voids the discount and you gotta cough up the rest.

Ours say adult (10 plus) and child (3-9) on the back of the ticket. did you order any children's tickets?
