MVMCP tickets only

Going to be in Orlando for just a few days and plan on doing MVMCP on Nov 9th. It starts at 7 P.M. but info states we can enter at 4 P.M. I have two questions, during the event do we need to make fast pass reservations? And if we only have the Christmas party tickets can we make fast pass reservations for rides between 4 P.M. and 7 P.M.?

1 no one needs to make FP but you can make them if you would like.

2 yes this is the time to make them since you will not get in the park before 4pm and there are not FP during MVMCP

1) In the past FP's were not available during the party.
2) You should be able to use your party ticket to make FP's between 4:00 & 7:00.
3). Enjoy the party!

People's fastpasses are being deleted indicating that point number 2 may not be accurate this year.

Where exactly did you see the info that you can enter at 4 pm? While that has been the practice, it has not been advertised by Disney, and there is some speculation that it may not happen this year. Disney is not giving any guarantees either.
