MVMCP Ticket Question

I am a FL resident (live 90 minutes away on the gulf coast) and am considering taking the kids to the MVMCP for the first time. Can we buy tickets just for the MVMCP to get into the MK or do we have to buy a park ticket and then the MVMCP ticket?

My idea is this........Tell the kids we're going to go see Santa and spend a few hours at DTD in the afternoon and get our pics with Santa, have dinner and then go over to the MK to do MVMCP in the evening.

One of the reasons I'm looking at this option is I'd like to take my best friend and her two kids (my godchildren) as their Christmas gift (they are dying to go to Disney, have had a horrible year and don't have the money to go) and if I have to buy tickets to both MK and MVMCP I can't afford to take them, let alone my family.

You can buy just the MVMCP ticket. Sometimes they sell out, so get them before you go. You will not be able to enter the park before the event though. Great plan you have, and what a wonderful friend you are. Were on the Gulf coast are you. I am in Tampa.

I called WDW Info yesterday because we have a base MYW ticket and will be spending the day in Epcot. I asked if we needed a separate ticket or add the PH feature. She said, No...MVMCP is a whole separate ticket. She also said you may be able to enter as early as 4:00 pm, even though it doesn't start until 7. They better not make you buy both, they were $42 a piece! Jeesh! So yeah, just the one ticket.

You only need to purchase MVMCP tickets to attend the event. The party doesn't officially start until 7:00 p.m., but in the past people with party tickets have been able to enter the park at 4:00 p.m. You can go anywhere in the park from 4:00 - 6:00, but at 6:00 you are directed to a certain area of the park (last year it was Adventureland) to wait for the party to officially begin. Thanks for the info. I really want to give my kids a nice surprise and if I can include my Godchildren and best friend, I'll do it. I have to see how big of a Christmas bonus I get first. My best friend has gone through a sudden divorce and is now a displaced housewife trying to figure out what kind of career to start, and is forced by ex husband to sell her home. They're probably moving in with her parents. These kids need all the pixie dust they can get. DGS 4 just had his tonsils and addenoids removed on top of it all.
