MVMCP - Plan of Attack?

We are going to MVMCP on 12/20. Our ADR is for Liberty Tree at 4:10 so we should have plenty of time to eat before the party starts. Hoepfully we'll have room for cookies and hot cocoa. :cool1:

We are considering this for the first time also but are waiting for the december hours to come out before we decide on the date.

Do they give out a schedule that gives times and locations and if so, when can we get this schedule?

Where are the locations to get your picture taken?

Where would the locations be if we wanted to buy the special pins for the party?

I'm from Buffalo so my idea of nippy is probably the same as yours........I'd say it usually is in the low 50s at night and can get into the low 40's high - 30's if it is particually chilly. Although it is usually warm enough to enjoy a swim in the afternoon. (high 70s- low 80s) Hope I helped

We're going December 13th too, and we have ADRs at Kona Cafe at 5:00. afterwards we'll go straight to MK for the party. We plan to sleep in that day and take it easy so we can stay up late at the party.

I'm not super concerned about the pictures since it's just me and my sister. We don't really need a picture together, but I guess it would be a nice bonus. Our main goal is to see the parade and maybe the Night Before Christmas show. We definitely want to go on a few rides and get cookies and hot cocoa.

Just curious as to how the weather is that time of year in WDW. I am trying to decide on whether i need to leave out alot of summer clothes to take or more fall/winter things. When you say nippy do you mean under 50, 40, or 30 degrees? We live in the mountains so waht is considered "nippy" in florida may feel like warm sunshine to us. :sunny:

Orlando’s average temp during the month of December is 62 degrees. You don’t have to worry about the humidity during December (except that the air will dry out contact lenses like there is no tomorrow! Drives me crazy!)

The average low temps during December are around 51 degrees. It will get as cold as the 30s at times, the 40s more often. During the day, it can possibly get up into the 90s. (According to statistics, January is the only month of the year during which there is no record of a 90 degree day in Orlando…)

Most days in this part of Florida during the winter are what we call “Wrap and Peel” days. It will be cold or chilly (to us, anyway) in the mornings, then warm up during the day and then get cool again at night. We wear layers to you can take off a jacket or sweatshirt as it warms up, and then have it with you when it gets cooler again after sundown (around 6-7pm during winter).

I would be prepared with the expectation that you will be at MVMCP with temps in the 40-60 range, and during the days maybe in the 60-80 range.

I live a bit north of Orlando and can remember going to Christmas dinner at Grandma’s house wearing shorts and a T-shirt on Christmas day because it was 85 degrees. :sunny: I can also remember huddling in a house with no heat (due to frozen pipes) next to the fireplace with every blanket we could find while it was about 3 degrees outside and everything was covered by ice and an inch or two of snow. :cold:

As we say, “Welcome to Florida. If you don’t like the weather, wait ten minutes!” :cool1:

Our first MVMCP is 20-Dec and we are all REALLY excited and all this information is great !!

JPN4265....Us, too! We've got a 4:30pm ADR at CRT and then we are heading out to the party on the 20th...maybe we'll see you there! It's our first MVMCP so we are...well, okay, maybe me more than DH and DS, but are very excited!!!

Have a magical day!

There is a great thread that has a TON of info on the party. Just search for MVMCP 2005 when in the search field. You should find it...it has a lot of info on times and shows some pics and maps from previous years. I believe that they will give out a map at the party that has the picture locations, hot chocolate and cookie stations and some other party features.
