MVMCP or Pirates and Pals?

So I am not able to get a CRT ADR so I was trying to figure out if it would be worth it to add on one of these two events. I like the idea that for the same $$ pretty much we would get 5 more park hours. I have heard great things about Pirates and Pals too BUT I don't have a reservation so that would be last minute if we could get that (there are only 2 of us).


Thoughts on this?

I wondered the same! Trying to add some extra magic. We've done MVMCP, BBB, and CRT during fireworks and wondering about Pirates & Pals. MVMCP was nice. We walked on all the rides, but the character meet & greet lines were very long.

haven't done Pirates and Pals but I think MVMCP's better anyway, even if only for more time

I've done both and think either is a good choice. I might lean more towards MVMCP if you haven't done that before. It is pretty hard to pass up the extra park hours with a reduced crowd. Wait times should be a bit shorter for rides and the snow on Main Street is pretty awesome. The parade is good (love the toy soldiers), although I do like the Halloween parade a bit better.

If you choose Pirates and Pals, I'd suggest seeing if you could book a night when the MVMCP is going on. Then you can still enjoy the perimeter fireworks! We did that on a Halloween party night and it was really cool. The Pirates and Pals voyage comes with some snacks while you take photos with Hook and Smee, but for us the boat ride was the best part. It gave us a chance to relax a bit (you are able to sit for 30-45 minutes!) and we got to see the fireworks from an amazing viewpoint.

Really you can't go wrong!

We loved MVMCP. We are planning on going again next month during a last minute trip that I've been able to plan. We loved the short lines for the rides and the Christmas feeling at the park.

We have not done Pirates and Pals, so I can't compare.
