MVMCP new dates question

It looks like this year, they have scheduled two sessions of MVMCP later than they have any other year. We typically go to WDW the weekend before Christmas, which is usually a week before Christmas. Well, looking at the MVMCP schedule, they have this year scheduled one for Sunday, December 18 and Tuesday, December 20. Does anyone know why they are doing this now?

They were popular last year, so adding 2 more can spread out the crowds and they can make more money.
