MVMCP dinner at Plaza or CS Pinocchio Haus or Columbia Harbor House?

Having never been to any of these restaurants, I'm trying to decide on the night of our MVMCP (12/18), if we'd be happier eating at the Plaza on Main St. or doing CS at Pinocchio Haus or Columbia Harbor House. (We'll be doing Tony's for lucnh earlier in the week and Pecos-also want to be on the Fantasly Land/Tommorrow Land side of park.

I'm not looking for gourmet food although tasty would be good. What I really want is an upbeat, fun environment with decent food to kick the night off. Is Plaza worth getting to the Park a little earlier for or any experienced MK eaters think we'd be happier with PH or CHH?

Thanks

I've never eaten at the Plaza (open till 6:00p party nights) so I can't help you with that but I have eaten at all the other sit down restaurants and that is what I prefer doing, usually around 5:30p. Then we're ready to go right before 7:00p.

Last year Adventureland/Frontierland were left open from 6:00p to 7:00p and Pecos Bills was a ZOO. In the past Tomorrowland was left open for that hour and Cosmic Rays was a ZOO.

Columbia Harbor House and Pinocchios are NOT listed as open on the party map from last year so you'd have to eat at one of them before 6:00p.

We tried the Plaza for the first time in May, and OMG, we LOVED it! Ok, so it's not gourmet food, but for a great sandwich, you can't beat it! Everything was fresh, and very tasty. We had the reuben (fabulous!) and the burger, and topped it off with the brownie dessert (ok) and the banana split (GREAT!). And I noticed the tuna salad croissant 'walking by', and we were regretting getting our entrees! (however, this was before we actually had ours, and our starving bellies were getting the best of us! :rotfl: ) I highly recommend the Plaza! I'm even trying to figure out how to fit it into our Sept. trip, even though we have adr's elsewhere!

We did the Plaza in '02 and loved it, and I've got a 4:50 ADR there before our MVMCP. I believe they are not accepting ADRs after 5pm. I don't really have any interest in the CS places, and don't really care to incur the expense of LTT or CP (almost 50% more than my excruciatingly detailed estimate for the Plaza).

Thanks for your input! :sunny: I now have 4:50 reservations at the Plaza! Menu looks perfect for what we want that night...defintely more special than counter service but not too fussy-going to definately try some ice cream and the setting seems charming...seems like it will be a great kick off to party night :santa: :woohoo:

I am doing the Halloween party and trying to decide the same thing... I heard Liberty Tree was good... any ideas? -Wendy

I know tons of people like the LTT, but we found it to be "ok". Even though we had a table in a window nook, all to ourselves, it was dark and kind of blah to us. Too gloomy, with so-so food... :sad2:

Inspired by this thread - I made reservations at the plaza for 4:45 on the day we are going to MNSSHP. I have been a big supported of counter service before the party (we did the castle last year before MVMCP and found it to be great but just too much - we spent a lot of time sitting and waiting for the food to digest) but based on the menu, I think this is a good alternative.
