ok I just looked at that long list of people for the DIS meet... where was everyone cause you all didn't show up?????

We didn't get to stop by because I had a super fussy baby that night! We spent the whole day napping and hanging out at the resort but he still pitched a fit all night. He did not like the cold. Sorry!!

Just getting over a week of sickness, so here is my ever so lame excuse...I was really excited about meeting you all, so we planned our evening around being at the plaza area. Got there just after the fireworks crowd drifted off and planted ourselves on a curb spot in front of the lanyard seller. I left the girls and poked around looking for DISers. I wandered up and down in front of the sweet shop looking for lgms. People kept looking at me with that , "Don't even think about pushing your way into my spot" look. My eyesight is not really sharp at night and I wasn't spotting any LGMHs amongst the bundled up crowd. I was wearing my red and white snowflake scarf with a giant lime green mickey on the end and hoped someone would notice me. I saw one group that looked likely, standing in front of a fire hydrant in a roped off area with one blond lady wearing a lgm scarf, but my incredible natural shyness overcame me and all I could do was pace back and forth. Meanwhile, the girls were getting nudged out of their curb spots, so I kept going back to stand our ground. We were there for ages. The castle show was cancelled and then the parade came through and I felt awful that I didn't make a DIS-connection. Finally, after the parade crowd separated, my girls pointed out a lady with a stroller and a few kids leaving wearing a LGMH, but she was hurrying towards Tomorrowland, so my chance was gone. So that is my story as lame as it is - sorry. Hope you trip was absolutely FAB. We had a great time and for us the party was the icing on a very sweet trip!
Merry Christmas!

Ok, the blond lady wearing the LGM scarf was Lenora aka PoppyGirl and the lady who was hurrying to tomorrowland was probably Natalie aka Tinkermom76. We had taken Tinkermoms eldest daughter with us to ride space mountain before we headed out for the night.

lol... sounds like a good excuse to me. Too bad you didn't find us and yes that probably was me running towards Tomorrowland :rotfl2:

I'm glad you had a great time, we did as well!!!

I had really tried to get over there, but we had done the dessert party at Tomorrowland Terrace for the fireworks, and by the time we got clear of that area and over to main street it was too late, we couldn't even get through to the plaza as it was PACKED trying to get there, so we turned around and went back to ride a few rides. It took us a while cause my dd10 had a tummy ache and was wanting to be babied, I think combination of cold and too many sweet treats.

The cold was crazy that night, sorry we missed you :sad1:

I was one of the ones who didn't make it, and I am still sad we weren't there. I'm just now having time to sit down and post to this thread.

Just after breakfast this day, my friend who was with me started feeling unwell. We went back to our resort, and she started getting sick and running a fever. She told me to go on and go by myself, and a manager at our resort told me I would be able to get a refund for my friend's ticket.

Once I got her settled to where all she wanted to do was sleep, I went to the Magic Kingdom to see how crowded it was, and as soon as I saw how beautiful everything was I knew it'd just bring me down to be there for the party alone. I wished our meet were planned for earlier in the evening. So, I went to Guest Relations and cried as I got a refund for both our tickets. I couldn't help it, I just boo-hoo'd, not knowing if our vacation was just over or even if she'd have to be sick the rest of her first visit to the World without ever making it to the MK. Thankfully, she felt a bit better by the next morning and we were able to save most of the rest of our vacay together.

I tried to find this thread that day to let everyone know, but I was looking via my iPhone and it was too much trouble. I didn't know if anyone would see, anyway.
