Hi, My huband is currently recovering from aortic heart valve replacment and a large aortic aneurism which they did a graft procedure and replaced the entire ascending aortia. Praise God he is doing well. DH will be using a scooter as he has in the past for our WDW trips. It is too much walking for him and in the past the heat has been an issue, which I am sure we will not have to worry about at the end of November and first part of December.

We are planning our first Christmas visit to WDW this year. We will be going after Thanksgiving and hopefully before the holiday crowds. Since this is our first and possibly last Christmas trip we would like to experience as much of the holiday wonder as possible. I have read about the MVMCP being a must do item.

What is everyone's opinion of it? Has anyone with a disability gone and what was their experience. My DH will be using a scooter and I may also be using one, as I am scheduled to have total knee replacment surgery in June. :rolleyes1

We are concerned that it may be so crowded that we will not be able to move yet alone enjoy the party. We have never been to one of these special events that Disney has. Any and all information would be appreciated.

First of all the MVMCP is usually limited to 20-25,000 people. MK really does not start getting crowded until over 50,000. I have gone to several MV<CPs and MNSSHPs with an ECV and no problem.

Just be sure to rent from off-site and you will get a better ECV than Disney provides, especially being much more maneuverable.

When you first go in the park you will think you must be nuts to do this because it is so crowded but those are all the people waiting for the parade that starts a hour later. Once you are off main street it's like you have the park to yourself. There are no lines for the rides it's great!

Thank you Cheshire Figment and Michigan for your help. Did anyone go last year? I was wondering what the schedule for the party was like. I have talked to my husband and he thinks it will be fun, so I think we will be going.

I do have a couple of more questions:

1. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as what to do first?

2. I have read they let MVMCP ticket holders in at 4:00 PM in the past. Would you suggest having dinner in the park before the party starts?

Side note: We have always rented the ECV from a outside company. They are much better. Plus the need of having a ECV available 24/7.

The first thing we did was stop by the wheelchair parade area and ask if it fills up and they said no just be back 15 minutes before it starts. So we hit the rides in fantasyland then had our picture taken by the buzz ride and went to the Night Before Christmas show in tomorrow land and back for the parade.

Yes we went last year, and the year before that and... well you get the idea.
Depends on what you like to do grab a schedule and check the times for the shows and then go from there.Actually if your already in the park you can stay in. And yes you can go in at 4 if you want. They give you a wrist band to wear.
