What @kaytieeldr said.

Take your time. Be prepared to say in a loud, but friendly voice "Excuse me!" if you get "stuck" in the crowd. Most of the time at WDW, issues with scooters in crowds come down to the simple fact that folks are so wrapped in their own experience they aren't aware of you being stuck behind them.

Make sure to say "Thank you!" in an equally pleasant voice after they move! ;)

Plan your trip so that you can do everything you want to - allow plenty of "travel time", taking into consideration the crowds, and go have fun.

Don't ditch the scooter if you need it. Stay on it, and ride it to your very best MVMCP ever! :)

I have done MVMCP solo with a scooter about half a dozen times. Agree with the above advice and would add that I have found it a great excuse to wear use of the flashing lightbulb "necklaces" - sometimes on my hat, sometimes on the basket of the scooter. Adds visibility as well as festivity.

Actually even with a sold out MVMCP it's not as crowded as a regular day can be in the parks.

If you can I agree with getting there early. Usually Disney will let party goers come in at 4 pm; you don't have to wait for 7 pm. I would use the scooter. Take advantage of the handicap area for the parade. Try to secure a spot for whatever early; so, you will be parked and established before the big crowds settle in. For the crowded areas just wait a while and let most others leave before you go. You will be able to see and get to the ramp areas better, too that way. You don't want to be jumping any curbs or hitting anyone.

One member of my group decorated hers with battery-operated Christmas lights, as well. She got TONS of compliments on her creativity, and many more people saw her coming than would have otherwise. (If you go this way, make sure to being extra batteries! We used rechargeable ones and charged them in the hotel room.)

I suggest lining up for the popular character meet and greet before the party starts. I was at last year's MNSSHP and I got in line for Jack and Sally around 6pm for the 7pm meet and greet. Was 10th person in line and was done by 720pm and able to hit the party with that "Biggie" out of the way.
