Must make and use 3 fast passes in one park?

My family isn't too big on Animal Kingdom so we usually just ride Everest and hop over to other parks we enjoy more. If I reserve only a fast pass for Everest, am I stuck being unable to make any other fast pass selections for other parks on that day? Am I correct that I must use three fast passes before we can get more?

The FP FAQ Addendum sticky at the top of this forum explains how to book FPs when park hopping. You can begin with 1 FP for Everest and as soon as you enter the FP line, go on the app and book FPs for park #2.
