Must have toys for this year

We saw the fijits last night. Much cuter in person than I expected!

Have you seen the bad reviews people are posting? I'm conflicted whether to get two or not (we have two girls, and if i just buy one I'll probably regret it!)

I keep thinking the Lego VW Camper is going to be hot but it's still in stock on lego.com.

I think this is going to be one of the hot items this year as well only thing holding it back is the price/size, even for lego its a little pricey.

Depending on where you live, some Walmarts are carrying the Lite Sprites and my dd was even lucky enough to find the Tree of Lite!

I read the reviews too, that is why I got it at Walmart. Easy to return if it decides to fizzle out.

Our Target has the Lite Sprites, but I actually ordered them off of QVC.

I am really torn with the Fijit. DD wants one, but am thinking it will be one of those toys never played with.....

Where do you find the lite sprites? I can't seem to find them:confused3

Kmart, target, sometimes Amazon and also QVC. They are pretty hard to find which is why I started so early. I had to buy from different stores/ online but I have bought all the pieces except the green fairy. It took me a couple of months though.

I am thrilled to say I have the tree of life sitting on my fridge:cool1:. It was very briefly on Amazon and I snatched it up. This was the main one she wanted so it was a relief.

I also got the starter set on QVC. For 40 shipped it was a good deal, especially since it has the wand and 2 fairies.

My dd is only 4 so very easy to please. I think the fijit will gets lots of love especially since she does not have high expectations. I think some kids expect a lot from their toys.

May God help any of you who have children who want one or more of these infernal noisemaking cretins from hell.

Apparently, these are one of the hot items, with even older kids (I mean 8 and up) deciding they are cool.

For the love of humanity, if I ever figure out which nimrod at Mattel decided to make these things, they will have to surgically remove my shoe from his large intestine.

These make anything Elmo seem like high art.

Calico critters, my dd loves them. They are pricey but have a great resale value. I like them a lot more then littlest pet shop

I bought some of these for my son's stepsister and my BF's daughter last year. They are cute. I saw one that sang the star spangled banner a few weeks ago and almost bought it.

I totally agree, but my dd7 wants one so bad she put it on her christmas list TWICE. I'm just waiting a little longer to see if the price drops any more.

Love your post! :rotfl2:

We saw those last year at Walmart. My daughter thinks they are cute. She plays with them every time she sees them there. That doesn't mean I'm buying her one though. Not sure what I'm getting her this year, she is 8.

My boys are the hard ones. They are 14 and almost 12. I have no idea what to get them. I am leaning towards a 3ds since they both have older ds lites that don't work so well anymore but this is more than I wanted to spend this Christmas since we just went to WDW last month. I find it really hard to choose gifts for them since they are past the "toy" stage. My older son is of no help at all because when I ask him what he wants, he says I don't know.

My son is 17 and beyond the hot toys. He has moved on to guitars, computer components and video game. $$$$:scared1: He knows better than to tell me he doesn't know what he wants, because then I wouldn't get him anything:rotfl: He is going back and forth now, but knows to have his list finalized in priority order before Thanksgiving.

I sent Grandma after the Fijits. She loves to shop and she especially likes to get things early. So I figured win win. I told her to save the receipt just in case.

I've already got the LeapPad for the youngest, waiting for a good laptop deal for the older 2 (12 and 14).

My dd got one of those last year (she was 12) from her Grandmother. Lets just say it better not get a sibling this Christmas

I must be odd, lol.. I think they're the cutest things... bought one of these for my younger dd for Christmas last year. I still love playing with them in the stores, :)

I saw Micky and Minnie singamajigs at Kohls. Didn't buy them, but they were cute. Somewhat annoying, though!

There are a few online websites to track down hard to find toys. I was able to get the 2 newest Monster High dolls Abbey and Spectra because of them. They alert you when the toy is in stock and what site has them. I got the Abbey doll for $12.99 through Target's online sale 2 weeks ago and Spectra through Amazon for $19.99. Best of all I didnt have to run to 10 different stores looking for a toy that wa out of stock. Zhu zhu pets did me in last year:surfweb: DD's bday is the 18th of this month and she is going to freak.

Which websites do you use to track the toys?

:rotfl2: DD7 brought one home after a visit to the store with Grandma  Grandma aka MY Mom who thought it was hilarious and extremely annoying = perfect to drive me nuts
