Must-eat Restaurants

My first time to Disneyland with be in November. What restaurants do we HAVE to eat at? In my party we have an 11 yr. old, and 13 yr. old and 2 adults.

I had the Monte Cristo (not the three cheese) at Cafe Orleans. All I can say is yummy, yummy, yummy!!! Wish I had taken a couple of those back with me. My mouth is watering now!

Cafe Orleans for a sit down. Share a monte cristo and some ponme frittes. Troubadour tavern (over in/by princess fantasy faire) has amazing baked potatoes with different toppings like BBQ chicken or broccoli and cheese. I can totally make a meal out of the Gibson girl ice cream :b funnel cakes from where ever you can find them. Pretty much everything at the hungry bear is fantastic. Over in ca the nachos are good and both the Greek food and the pasta are okay. In my own opinion I would avoid pizza port like the plague.

We like the chicken dinner at Plaza Inn, it's a must do for us.

For character meals we enjoyed Goofys at DLH. Ariel's is good too.

I'm probably spelling this wrong but the beignets at Cafe Orleans and in Downtown Disney are so yummy.

Our favorite burger is the bleu cheese burger at Taste Pilots in CA.

Blue Bayou -- more for the atmosphere than the food. But you are actually IN the ride -- how often do you get a chance to eat in a place like that? I'd hit it for an early lunch to assure a waterside table or think about a 3:30 time to get dessert.

I would agree with this. As a life long DL devotee, I have always loved the ambiance of the BB and will finally be eating there on our next visit

Ditto - there's nothing like it anywhere else. Not to be missed! Do advance dining reservations, and request a waterfront table.

We love food, but we found a few Disney restaurants hit or miss. We're Canadian, so maybe we're used to lighter food? When I worked in Austin I could never finish a meal!

Our favs:

* Arial's Grotto - great food, though the dining room seemed awfully dirty for a Disney restaurant. I had a seafood bowl that was both ironic and incredibly delicious (eating Arial's friends seemed wrong somehow).
* Lucky Fortune Cookery - everything (and you can get a beer or margarita from another stand around it)
* Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill (kids loved it, not very authentic, but very filling)
* Pacific Wharf Cafe - bread bowl soup. We love soup!
* Cafe Orleans - didn't like the Monte Cristo (too heavy), but loved the ratatouille ... which sadly they don't seem to have any more. The pomme frites and beignets were also huge hits
* Blue Bayou - great atmosphere, great food
* Redd Rockett's Pizza Port - kids loved the pizza here (slices as big as their head), but not much the adults would eat (plain pasta, salads were wilty, etc.). Many people love this place, so maybe we'll try it again!
* Golden Horseshoe - great entertainment, but the service is very slow. Food is typical fast food fare, and yet it was delicious.
* Hungry Bear Restaurant - kids loved it (before the new menu), I enjoyed it, wife was done with fast-food style food by this point
* Little Red Wagon - this was our first corn dog ever. Our fairs here don't seem to sell them! Adults enjoyed them, kids thought they were weird.

Just want to give a heads up if you are going to do advance dining reservations for Blue Bayou. You *cannot* request waterside seats when you make the dining reservations on the phone. You can make that request when you check in. My DH and I ate there for lunch today. We had reservations at 11:30, (first available) and we checked in at 11, seated around 11:15.

So basically definatly eat at the Cafe New Orleans and Blue Bayou. What exactly makes the Blue Bayou so special. You are "in an attraction"? huh??
