Must Dos!!

So we're kicking it into high gear when it comes to planning for our trip in April. Well, I should say I'm kicking it into high gear, I'm the planner in the relationship.

So I've thought of a few must do's based on reading threads here and I'm wondering if there are any others you all would recommend.

- for me, POC (I can't wait to see it after the refurb), my favourite ride.
- Dole Whip (Never had one, I'm curious)
- Silhouette Shop (I want to get my kids done)
- for dh, Space Mountain
- for dd, High School Musical Pep Rally (she's a huge fan)
- for ds, Jedi Training
- Soaring over California (we missed it last time)
- The animation building in DCA

Are there any other must-dos at either DL or DCA?

I don't have any must-dos as I haven't been in 4 years. But I wanted to say that I'll be at DL with my 3 kids the same days you and your family will be there. Hope you have a nice time. I don't know how you and your husband have been able to keep a secret, I let me kids know as soon as my hubbie and I made the decision.

I've almost blabbed a couple times by mistake, but so far so good. I took dd to dance today and one of the mom's at dance asked me "Have you been to DL yet?". I looked at her and said "Uh, what are you talking about, I'm not going to DL?" with this look of OMG you're spoiling the suprise in my eyes. DD didn't catch on at all, she was too busy chatting with her girlfriends. The mom felt really bad. I plan on photographing our announcement to the kids!!

Definately the parades and fireworks. The Haunted Mansion is fantastic, Splash mountain is a must if it is open, space mountain is so cool that I have to recommend it. Also the Indiana Jones ride.

HM and Indy for sure! The Matterhorn is a must also. At DCA, Tower of Terror and California Screamin' are awesome. I should probably stop now cause I have many must do's

For me the "must do" was getting up early enough to enter a nearly empty park. Never mind that there was a billion people behind me. Just walking into the park, still glistening from the dew (or powerwashing ) made it all worth it.

Wanted to tell ya...I still remember (though hazily) the trip that my mom and then-stepdad planned for us, without telling us. Very elaborate, and they kept it a secret despite near "water torture" type of questioning by me and brother (same brother mentioned above)...first we did Thanksgiving down at Grand Canyon, then while driving home to San Jose, CA brother and I begged and pleaded the whole way.....and then saw the signs to DL and upped the begging...when suddenly we were turning into the hotel!

It was very exciting and happy, and we had a good time. So keep the secret, it'll be worth it!

2. Turtle Talk With Crush at DCA is a must do for anyone who has never seen it.

If you have not seen Aladdin, that should be a priority. To Fantasmic is always a must do, even though I have seen it numerous times.

No Fantasmic is not back up until June. When it is up, it is a Must Do for me.

I surprise our kids on EVERY trip we go on! They never know. I pack their bags while they are playing or being occupied by dh. We drag them out of bed at 4am and they dont wake up til we are about 45 minutes from Disney! IT's hysterical to see their faces when they realize where we are going and they cant believe we've fooled them AGAIN!!!

If I tell my kids right when we plan it they will CONSTANTLY be asking "When do we go? Is it tomorrow or 5 days from now?" The questions never end as time is not a concept they readily understand!

OMG you sound JUST like me! I have to be there EARLY! I pretend it's only me and the other 50 or so people that walked in with me and ignore the mob scene lined up to the California letters behind me!

My must do's are fireworks and fantasmic (if they are running of course). BTMRR, POTC, HM, BLAB and every ride in fantasyland

In DCA we have to do Soarin, jumpin jelly fish, Cali Screamin, Monster's Inc

I loved Haunted Mansion and It's a Small World.

Buzz was a family favorite-esp if you have boys I think we rode it 6x

GET FASTPASSES-no doubt about-use them-they are your friend!
