What are your absolute HAVE to do tours or visits while at fort? Resorts to go see that you always enjoy going back to?

Someone mentioned the tour at ft wilderness and it got me thinking...planning for our 2nd trip to Fort in October. Know we have to do electric water parade on beach... What else is on your list?

Segway tours, Chip and Dale activities at the Campfire, looping, relaxing, HDDR and/or BYBBQ, horseback riding

Kids: Archery, pony rides, horse barn, Chip and Dale activities at the Campfire, BYBBQ

Probably a lot more for others to list.

Deep in the underbrush are some of the remains of the Fort Wilderness Railroad. I go by usually once per visit to pay my respects - sort of like visiting the cemetery to visit loved ones buried there.

Very cool....but sad, also. Too bad they had to get rid of the train. I always like taking sneak peaks at the old River Country;)

Night on the beach - fireworks from MK, and Electrical Water Pageant at 9:45. Wishes times vary, so you may see it before or after the EWP.

Thanks everyone. Ya'll are making me impatient to get to the fort in October! Is it too early to start the countdown?

My hubby said tonight we need 4 seater golf cart so look around to see if we can find a good used one to buy at a decent price.

Oh boy:yay:

I'll be going to the fort this weekend and was hoping to find the tracks. where are some locations to find the tracks, also I was wondering about a picture I saw of a train station(some kind of structure) that you can look at. Any idea where that is too?

We saw some tracks this past weekend on the pet walk where loop 800 meets loop 700

Joben,

I will send you a PM. It's not a HUGE secret but I'd rather send you the info directly.

PS - no station that I'm aware of. The two depots were built down by loop 400 (no platform) then back on the other side of the main road where the golf cart parking is by loop 700 where the busses drop off for Trails End/marina (platform). You can still see some old wooden ties in that area. The other depot is up at the Outpost (checkin) area where the roofed bus stop is now. The only other building was the train shed back in the garage area which is off limits. No station that I know of.

More nice pix of track.
