So we arrive in 6 weeks, and I'm pumped. Wow time has flown by...

So my question being, I will be hitting the parks most morning by myself when DH is golfing, what activities / events/ things would you do as a lone adult that is are not well known, off the beaten track and something different.

I will be at least each park twice between 9-11 am, am by myself and want to see/ do things I haven't seen/done before. I love all rides and can walk miles, can eat anything and can drink like a fish.

Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance.....

Oh my gosh! How fun for you. I´d join you if I were there myself:tongue:

I don´t have specific suggestions but would definitely recommend going on the attractions that others might not be that keen to go on. When I´m in Disneyland by myself I go straight to Alice in Wonderland and then find a churro cart:)

If I was at BLT I would head over to Trails End at the Fort one morning for breakfast and then hang out afterwards. In Magic Kingdom maybe spend some time playing Sorcerers of the Kingdom or the Pirate thing. Sounds like I am down there a week or so before you :) I made all my FPs for the mornings so then I am free to try and grab additional ones at whichever park I am in the mood for.

I had to make all my FP+ for the afternoons when the DH is in the parks with me, so hopefully if I hit rope drop I can do a few single rider etc. Oh I do like the idea of trails end, I hadn't thought of doing a resort, just was thinking of the parks. That opens up the idea of a pedicure etc at the spa.....ohhhhhhhhh.....maybe halfway thru the trip as my poor feet will be needing a bit of TLC.

Sounds wonderful... no real suggestion though that spa idea is a great one.
Enjoy... me.. I’d be getting some time in with a snack or drink and a bench and people watching somewhere, lol.

Oh I do love people watching, its just amazing watching family dynamics, especially when on vacation in big groups. Its the #1 activity for my DH and I when at WDW. The only problem with this is trying to find a decent coffee to nurse while bench sitting..suggestions???

Are there any tours you'd like to do, but your DH wouldn't? A lot of tours start at 9AM (or earlier!). If you're into gardening, there is a 'gardens of the world' tour at Epcot. Or maybe "World Showcase: Destinations Discovered"--5 hr tour of world showcase (and behind the scenes) w/ lunch at Rose and Crown. '(Remember to mention that you're a DVC member--we get a 15% discount on lots of tours!) Or any rides he won't go on, that you'd like to?

It looks like you'll be at Disney during the Food and Wine festival. At Epcot, take a walk around the Festival center. A thing to do at the Festival w/ your DH is the 'Back to Basics' talks that they have on Fri/Sat/Sun at 2 and 4PM. You need to pick up free tix an hour before the program. We did one with the kids last year for Heritage Chocolate--we got some free samples to take home! Also, check out what bands are playing for the festival and see which you'd like to go to. Sometimes DVC will give out wristbands for guaranteed seating.

I would pick up one of the hidden magic of walt disney world books - If your goal is to stroll around then i would utilize this book. You could use it almost as a self guided tour to see things that you normally would not even really notice in the parks. Like all the second floor windows down Main St at MK - I think there is significance to all the names listed on the faux businesses. You can even find Walts window, which is positioned to face the Castle.

I received the book for Christmas and read through most of it before our April trip, that trip was a little crazy and busy so I wasn't really able to take the time to find everything i had read about. Our upcoming November trip i plan on seeking out a few more details. There really is so much more to the park than just the rides and shops when you really take the time to look at the details.

If you are a Starbucks fan there are now locations in the parks.

I like the idea of park tours, we have done several. I really liked Keys to the Kingdom. My DH and I did the 4 parks one last time we were there, but it takes all day, so that wouldn't work for you.

Otherwise, I would do all the "little" things I don't tend to do when we are taking others with us, i.e. Tiki Room, Country Bears, Mickey Philharmagic, Swiss Family Treehouse, etc. Looking through the shops at World Showcase, watching the movies in World Showcase. I love to sit and watch the entertainment in Epcot also, i.e. the Chinese acrobats, the mime in Italy, the show in France, concerts in England, etc. Walk the trails through AK, stop and look at the animals in the front of the park as everyone else is sprinting to Avatar. The shows are great at DS, but a lot of people pass them by in their hurry to get to the rides, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Indians Jones, etc.

Kil safari is a walk on or very short wait until 9 am. I like to get coffee and walk thru ak. Also take the train to the petting zoo and watch the vet hospital. I also go to resorts and coffee hop. You can do progressive coffee on the monorail and sit by the poly and grand fl outdoors. It’s nice in the am when no crowds are there.

I've done this several times, and I'm never lonely - enjoy! It's fun to just do your own thing once in awhile. I had a great time once getting to the Magic Kingdom really early - talked with other early birds and then lined up next to a cast member at rope drop! Then I was one of the first ones on the Mine Train, just because. Alternately, I've loved getting to a park early and just quietly walking around, sitting somewhere with tea and watching the frantic world go by. You can really experience the parks in a different way when you're not in a rush.

It might be too late to book at this point, but the MK "Keys to the Kingdom" tour is a great way to spend several hours (albeit more than the 9-11am period you're trying to fill).

Wow, how fun. If it were me, what I would love to do (some I do now just not alone)

Take pictures of things I like and take my time, doing it. I don't know about you but taking a family pic or a pic of my kids is like asking for world peace, and heaven forbid I'd like to take a second one just in case I screwed up the first, they have no patience, yet there they are with the selfies yada yada.

I love to head to Epcot, France and hit the Boulangerie/Patisserie(Les Halles) for a really good coffee and pastry ( I used to have a favorite, now at 56 I like them all) at 9:30 and just sit and relax. And after walking around a bit, get that Grey Goose slushy and head back to the resort.

No, I don't like Tonga Toast but the Kona Pressed pot coffee at Kona Cafe serves 2, I can drink it by myself and alone, you won't have to share.

Now, I don't know how early they open, but I love Spice Road, in Morroco. I see nothing wrong at 11:30 am enjoying a glass of chilled rose, while sitting outside by the water. (Their Brie fondue is next on my radar) Or, even have your husband meet you there!

I've always wanted but never have taken the Segway tour of Epcot!

MK, I love The Carousel of Progress, how nice would it be to do it in the morning (not at 3:30 in the afternoon, when your hot and worn out) And do my all time favorite ride, Space Mountain!

I enjoy walking the Boarwalk area, all around past the other resorts and hotels. The Boardwalk Bakerie has good croissants. Swan's Java bar has nice breakfast treats and drinks.

And lastly, the Grand Floridian Cafe, Lobster Eggs Benedict (not much on breakfast but...I love this dish) with a mimosa or a glass of prosecco.

Have fun on your adventure.

Most of your list sounds like mine!!

I would add:

at AK - maybe worth rope drop and running for FOP? If not, take your time to enjoy the rest of Pandora without feeling pressured to get in line for a ride. Also agree with Kilimanjaro Safari or taking some of the other walking trails. Single rider Everest if you're into it...
I'd also resort hop to AKL and enjoy breakfast there with the animals and walk around the resort.

EP: Totally agree with spending some time on the BW. Walk on Soarin or one of the other rides, a pastry in France, and then the Boardwalk?

HS: I always feel like I am shortchanging this park. I'd spend more time on the main st. and interacting with the characters, and going to the exhibits/shows that are not super popular.

MK: I would definitely resort hop - I love Kona Cafe (for the coffee, mostly), breakfast at the GF is lovely too. I would also spend time on Main St., people watching, take a Main St. vehicle, ride the railroad...

Also, because neither DH and I are shoppers, I might spend a morning at DS to check it out, because otherwise we'd never go.

Walk on Soarin Yes, we always do it Sunday's bright and early before leaving Disney!

We were twinning there, then you lost me at shopping :scared: (a fate worse than death)! :)

LOL! I think my point was - since I really don't like shopping, we normally don't go to DS, ever. But ... 9-11am on a weekday might be ok, just to have experienced it! Not necessarily to buy anything or even "shop". But I haven't been since they redid it, so I am a tiny bit curious.

I would do a monorail resort hop. And take some photos. Or walk around the World Showcase at Epcot, shop, eat and drink and take photos. There are some great bakeries there or there is one on the Boardwalk.

I like the idea of taking a tour DH wouldn't want to do. The Sense of Africa Tour at Animal Kingdom Lodge is great. You even get a breakfast at Boma.
