Can everyone give me their top "must do" rides appropriate for kids ages 5, 3 and 1 (I realize the 1 year old won't get much out of them, but it would be nice if she could come on some rides too.)

Am I correct in assuming if there is a height restriction, anyone under that height simply CANNOT go on the ride, or is it ok with an adult along?

Thanks! Can't wait to make up my "rides list"! Who can tell I am a list and planning fanatic!

- Autopia (Height restrictions 52")

Critter Country
- Winnie the pooh

Frontierland
- Take a ride on the paddle wheeler or the sailing ship columbia (kids would think they were on a pirate ship)

You might like Small World, Buzz Lightyear, and The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh, and if the line is not too long try the new Nemo ride. Have a fun trip!

With Nemo you might want to make sure they are OK with the more intense parts of the movie. Shark, angler fish, those other whammo moments that might cause fear in a little kid with their face pressed anxiously against the window.

DS loves Buzz and has since he was 2.

He also loves Astro Orbiters (he's 3 now), and therefore I have to go on even though it makes me positively green, because it's too hard for my husband to get in and out of the ride with DS.

Autopia is the only one I can think of where there are two height restrictions (ooh, other than the "bumper car" type ride in DCA?). To go by themselves kids must be something like 52", but anyone can go with an adult bigger than that... They can even sit in the driver's seat and "steer" while you do the awkward move of pushing the pedal.

Another thing about Autopia is that I was told, when DS was around 15 months, that over-1-year-olds HAVE TO sit on the seat by themselves. DS wouldn't sit on the seat, he wanted to be on my lap, and we were unable to ride. That was fun.

Personally I think Pinocchio is the scariest ride in all of DLR. Its very dark and stays dark and I don't feel there is a light lift at the end. Maybe that's just my opinion though. It really creeps me out. Then there's the Carousel. Storyland Boats are fun and straightforward. I think the oldest can do Autopia with an adult. Tarzan's treehouse. Otherwise what he/she said.

Storybook Cannels- I am not 100% sure if that is the correct name.

DCA- Brother Bear Forest.

Personally, Mr. Toads Wild ride bothers me because they show Mr. Toad going to Heck.

Autopia you just need to be over the age of (1) in order to go on them. The height restriction is to drive all by yourself.

My two boys could not do any of the dark rides in Fantasyland. They were too scary for them. Snow White, Pinochio, Mr. Toad, Alice and even Peter Pan. They LOVED Dumbo, Casey Jr. Train, Small World (my 15 minutes of peace), storybook ride and the TEACUPS!!! We heard that the Nemo ride does feature a lot of the "intense" scenes from the movie.

They loved the Jungle Boat ride too. There was so much to see it kept them occupied.

Also the train that goes around is a great ride for kids. Just remember that from Tomorrowland to Main street you go in a tunnel and if has dinosaurs and other things that could be scary for some young children.

Your five year old might want to go on a roller coaster. If you want to wait in a long line in Toon town there is a 90 second roller coaster. Last year my then five year old went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride as well and loved it.

At DCA they loved all the rides in A Bug's land- Flick's Flyers, Heimlechs Chew Chew train, Bumper Cars (Need an adult), and the Boogie Woogie cars. They also loved getting a free tortilla at the Mission Tortilla factory, Brother Bear, and King Triton's Carosel.

Either way, I would make sure you know where both of the baby care centers are. It is wonderful to get a "break" from the noise of the crowds.

As far as your question with the height restriction- those are set in stone. It will say on Disneyland's website if you can ride with an adult or not - like with Autopia or the bumper cars in DCA.

One more thing we learned is to let each boy pick one ride that was their "Must do" for the day. That way there was no bickering that we did not do what they wanted to do. We also had to go with their pace and not what we thought they could do. Have a great time!!!

Disneyland Park

FANTASYLAND
- Peter Pan
- Alice in Wonderland
- Dumbo
- Casey Jr Train
- Mr. Toads wild ride (A bit scary, not to spoil it, but you get run over by a train and are sent to hell)
- Story book canals
- Pinocchio (This ride is quite dark so cautious) (Also very scary and dark. The kids get turned into donkeys! And Monstro the whale tries to eat you)
- King Arthurs Carousel
- Snow White (If your kids arnt scared of scary things as the witch pops out at different times) (Scariest FL dark ride out there. Skeletons, spooky trees, the witch, and very dark)
- Its a Small world (But that ride is supposed to be down until this fall)

Tomorrowland
- Finding Nemo
- Buzz Lightyear (Great for kids 2 and over)
- Autopia (Height restrictions 52")

Critter Country
- Winnie the pooh

Frontierland
- Take a ride on the paddle wheeler or the sailing ship columbia (kids would think they were on a pirate ship)
- Pirate's Lair. It's the island in the middle of the river. Great place for the kids to run around and blow off steam.

New Orleans
- Perhaps the Haunted mansion, but once again if your kids are scared of ghosts ect then I wouldnt recommend it.
- If they can do HM, they can do Pirates. Though Pirates has two gentle drops, one is in pitch blackness.

Adventureland
- The Jungle Cruise
- Enchanted Tiki Room
- Tarzan's Treehouse. If they can climb all of the stairs

DCA Park

A Bugs Land
- Heimlich's chew chew train
- Fliks flyers

Hollywood Picture Backlot
- Monsters Inc
- Turtle Talk with Crush. Interactive show where the kids can ask questions to the turtle from Nemo and he actually responds. It's a funny show for all ages actually.

Paradise Pier
- King Tritons Carousel
- The sun wheel (If not afraid of heights)
- Toy Story Mania (Opening summer 2008)

Made some changes. :thumbsup2
