Must-do at Shula's?

9 days until our trip! Which means it's 12 days until our first visit to Shula's!

What are the must-try menu items? What's your favorite app, side dish, or dessert? Tell me what you feel a dinner at Shula's would not be complete without. (Um, besides steak. That's a given.)

We either get the Steak tartare or the bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp as an appetizer. And dessert is always the souffle.

And the Porterhouse (the smaller one) is an excellent choice for the steak.

Don't forget about the drinks! They have a pretty good bar in the place, and the specialty cocktail selection is full of interesting choices.

They have a pretty decent bourbon selection, too!

We will be landing at MCO at 8:15pm, not checking bags and then taking a taxi to the Dolphin. If all is on schedule I would hope to be checking in by 9:15. Any chance we can grab apps at the bar at 9:30 pm or later?

I'm pretty sure they still take reservations that late, but not too much later than that. As long as you're at the bar before they stop seating, you should be able to order from the kitchen.

I'd say that your cut-off is probably somewhere around 10 PM, though.

EDIT: The official site says that they are open to 11 PM. I don't know if the kitchen is open for that entire time, but you could get lucky if you get to the bar later than what I previously stated.
