Is there anything that I should make sure to do in Hilton Head as a must do tourist attraction? On my first trip there last summer I wasn't there long enough to make it much past the resort and beach house (but loved it enough to add on there :goodvibes). I'll be there for a week on my upcoming trip and want to make sure I do something touristy this time. I was thinking of getting to the lighthouse and trying to catch a sunset from that side of the island. Is there anything more that I really should do? My goal of the trip is to relax by the beach and the pool, but I feel like I should at least try to make it off of Disney property other than going to the grocery store this time.

Thanks!

We love HH. These are some of the things we enjoy:
-- last trip we got bicycles for the first time. Lots of nice bike paths. It is an easy ride to the beach house.
-- seek out Mike the Pool Guy at the beach house pool. He is a wealth of information and will be happy to share with you. He gave us some great maps that had some "off the beaten path" sites on them. The island has a very interesting history.
--The lighthouse is fun to visit. There is shopping nearby. And if you have little ones, they have built a really cool playground area in the area.
--my favorite activity is to sit on the porch and read a good book.

I hope you enjoy your trip as much as we do!!

Make sure to go to the lighthouse in the evening and catch Greg Russell's show at sunset. Depending on the season you are going, I'm not sure if he performs every night. Google it to find out. It's a fun show, especially with kids.

Go to cologny plaza to shop and enjoy some live music.

I could name several others - been to HHI 6-8 times, never at the Disney DVC.

-I'm considering renting a bike. Looked like fun to ride to the beach!
-I met Mike last summer, and he did give me some great info and a map. I just wasn't able to take the time to do some of the stuff he suggested.
-lighthouse is definitely on my list this trip
-Did a lot of reading on the balcony. That was one of my favorite activities too!

Thanks!

It looks like he performs pretty much every night during the summer. Thanks for the tip!
