Hi what restaurants would you say are a must do.i need to book my Adrs now but am having a hard time picking from all the restauranst so really do need some help.
So what are peoples must do's
Thanks
:thumbsup2

Everyone is different, but to me the character meals are my favorite, so Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's are always a must do for us. We love the interaction, and the food isn't too bad either. There are lots of other places that I really like to eat, but these two have become a tradition for us!

We book all of our ADR's--don't like to take chances. Our must do's every year are: Crystal Palace (breakfast), Plaza Restaurant, LeCellier and either Rose and Crown or Biergarten.

Crystal Palace & Chef Mickeys (breakfast): both are good buffets, with good character interaction & have fun atmospheres.

Chef Mickey's has always been a must do for us!

I also really enjoyed Boma (for something with different food), we all had a lot of fun at Prime Time (food was okay), Crystal Palace Breakfast was all around good, and to be honest...there really hasn't been a place in Disney I've tried that we didn't enjoy!!!:lmao:

We really like Chef Mickeys for breakfast and Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner. They are both loud, fun places. If you have children they will love it! If you're looking for something quiet or romantic, these might not be the place for you. We also really enjoyed 50's prime time cafe last time we were there. It's also another fun place and the food is good!

Must-do for our family of 4:

Chef Mickeys (great entertainment)
LeCellier (mushroom filet mignon)
Espn Club (entertainment & burgers)
Crystal Palace (kids love pooh)

We're not all that focused on dining in Disney, so I only did ADRs for character dining and one at WCC because my husband really wants to eat there. The character meals I booked are the Garden Grill, Crystal Palace, and Hollywood & Vine.

If there's some place that you really want to eat at, you should reserve seating. Otherwise, be prepared to eat counter service (this is fine for us, but absolutely appalling to my mother who is traveling with us, lol). It's all about what works for you.

Our top 5

Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge

This resort is beautiful & fun to visit. Before or after your meal, step out back & take a look at the savannah. This is a buffet with African & American foods. Be sure & try the zebra domes for dessert.

Le Cellier in Canada at Epcot

Consistently one of the most popular & highest rated restaurants at WDW. Don't miss the cheddar cheese soup & breadsticks.

San Angel Inn in Mexico at Epcot

We go here for the atmosphere. The food is OK. This is a very romantic setting.

Brown Derby at Hollywood Studios

Elegance in a theme park! And great food. Be sure to try the Cobb Salad.

Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom

We like to book an early ADR here (before the park opens). Take a liesurely walk down Main Street with no crowds. You can get some great pics. Usually, there are characters roaming around the castle area. We got a great pic with Minnie in front of the castle. It's sitting on our mantle.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!

Our only MUST is Chefs de France, but my TA said the two that you absolutely, positively NEED to get your ADPs in ASAP are CRT and Le Cellier. /shrug

We'll be there in July. I made sure to do my ADR's at 7am at the 6 month mark.

Our must do's were:

Boma (AK Lodge)
Le Cellier (Epcot)
Ohana (Polynesian)

We were flexible with our other choices, but these were absolute must-do's for us. We'll also be eating at Coral Reef, Capn Jack's, San Angel Inn, Yak & Yeti, Cape May Cafe, Olivia's; then for our two days of DxDD we'll be eating at Artist Point and Narcoosee's.

Good luck making your choices. Our choices are based on getting a good variety of food. THere are no kids traveling with us, so character meals were not something we were interested in.

If you want to do Le Cellier, use the 6 month + 10 day booking option and plan it for later in your week, and that's calling at 7am at the 6 month mark to your first day. It's easier to get lunch there, but if you want dinner, it is HARD to get a booking.

'Ohana is an absolute must for us also. The food is amazing and you will not leave hungry. The view overlooking the lagoon and castle are beautiful. Atmosphere is great and upbeat

we was thinking of 1900 park fayre, would you say don't bother and just do Chef Mickeys??
Thanks for all the help so far guys;)

ASK and you will get differing opinions on EVERY place - as proven by recent polls! Nearly every place was on someone's least favorite list! (Except maybe V &A's, if you want to dine there :) )

I'm assuimg about a six day trip.

I would narrow it down by picking a park for each day. Somewhere in your trip, I'd dine at least once at a resort other than your own, I'd dine once at your own resort if it has a TS, and probably more than once for breakfast at your QS. Generally, IMO, we like to get out quickly in the am, so we like to do our TS dining late in the day.

I also think it's good to only do one TS per day, so that your day isn't locked down into getting to restaurants all day.

I do suggest one character meal, not more than two tops, but at least one is fun. Mostly you can pick any one that appeals to you.

There are also some places that aren't character meals, but have a real element of non-character fun: WCC at WL, 50's Prime Time, Sci-Fi, Bongos Cuban(might not be on DDP), HoB (sould food, music, might not be on DDP), Marrakesh (live music and a belly dancer), San Angel Inn, Teppanyaki (live chef), and RC (I understand the one at AK is better). Try one from the above list. Not all have the best food, but each has a unique atmosphere!

If you have ddp, and won't get a full day on you arrival and departure days, then consider one signature dining exp.

Mostly though, pick out places tthat appeal to you. the theming is really cool at manyplaces, and it's hard to really go WRONG at WDW. Pick a character meals based on characters you like: Mickey and friends, TIgger, Princesses.

You can see some menus if you are stuck, but that is also too much work, IMO, to do for all places.

Hi thanks again for the help.
We are actually going for 2wks,we are only doing MGM parkwise though, our granddaughter who will be 6 yrs then is coming with us so your advice of character meals with pricesses is good:thumbsup2

We've done both. We prefer 1900. It's is more of a relaxed atmosphere. Plus, the characters are different. Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, and the Mad Hatter for breakfast & Cinderella and Prince Charming, Suzy and Perla, and the Fairy Godmother for dinner.

LeCellier and Alfredos (or whatever it's called now in Italy at Epcot) are our "must -dos" every trip. I am finally getting to go to Ohana this year!!
We also love Liberty Tree Tavern, Garden Grille, Biergarten and Crystal Palace.

A few of our favorites are:

1. Kona Cafe @the Poly
2. Ohana's @the Poly
3. Cape May Cafe @the BC
4. Chef Mickey's @ the CR
5. Boma @the AKL
