Our friends and my family are in 7002 and 7003 in 16 days and almost everything I've read suggests this is a great part of the ship. In particular, others have mentioned that the access to the elevator is convenient, and that because the rooms are near the end of the corridor of staterooms, they are quiet with much less traffic going by.
We were in 7010 for our 11/15 cruise & LOVED it!!! There was very little traffic in the hall. It wasn't far from the forward elevators and we had 15'+ swells and felt more movement on deck 3 aft in the dining rooms. It was great to be rocked to sleep every night. I fell asleep within minutes. We have rebooked in 7503 on the other side of the ship for our next cruise.
We were on the 02/07/04 Magic in rooms 7008 & 7010 they are terrific. We rebooked in 7004 & 7006 to get the adjoining rooms. It is very quiet and convenient to the forward elevators which are never crowded except at showtimes. On our first cruise we were exactly opposite in 7132 aft and I will say we felt much more ship movement this time around but the seas were also not as calm so it really isn't a fair comparison. At the end of the hallway is officers quarters or administration or something because there was always an officer going in and out of the door and I could see many other doors on the other side.
Deck 7 forward may be the entrance to the bridge. At least it would need to be a secure area because you wouldn't want any bad guys get directly under the bridge.
You know I've never had any trouble sleeping on a cruise. You know for being a nice and relaxing vacation, there's a lot of hard work having fun going on. It's different than the "marches" though the parks hitting attraction after attraction. Its more like get up early, see the sun rise out of the ocean, eat, participate in activities, eat, more activities, eat, evening activities, stay up late and party in the clubs (and grab another snack) then off to bed way past your normal bedtime. Whew!! Next day, repeat!!
