what's disney policy for moving someone from one cabin to another? we have three cabins:

1. me, dw, dd
2. fil, bil
3. mil, ail (aunt in law)

looks like ail won't be able to go on the cruise, and she's the primary in their cabin. mil still wants to go on the cruise.

called the ta to just inquire about adding a third person to the second cabin and was quoted $2000(!) to add a third person (this is for the august repo cruise).

if we did it as a move, not adding a new person, should we be able to keep the same rate that mil's under in the third cabin? we all made reservations and paid the deposits at the same time, so mil should ideally be able to keep the same rate.

called disney and they say to deal with the ta. problem is cabins 2 and 3 were booked with different ta's. anyone have any experience with this?

So basically you want to cancel the 3rd room & move MIL to room 2? It sounds like your falling victim to Disney pricing the addition of the 3rd person to the room at the current price. Someone will be able to explain this better, but I am not sure you have many options. I don't think you will be able change the name on the 3rd cabin to someone else either, I recall some threads on this in the past & getting the primary changed is a huge/impossible hassle..

We were able to move to a different category and keep our early booking discount even though rates had gone up, but we moved everyone in the cabin and did it directly through DCL.

This is just my guess - but I bet what you're trying to do is possible since you're not messing with the primary reservation holder and everyone booked at the same time.

If you had booked with the same TA and the reservations were linked I bet you could make it happen. I'm just not sure how much luck you'll have trying to deal with two different TA's. They may not even be able to do what you need.

Would one of you consider moving your reservation? I'd call the TA you would prefer to work with and ask what they could do if they had both ressies. Not the best scenario - especially if you are both happy with your respective TA's - but it couldn't hurt to ask.

Good Luck
