OK, we've talked about the songs you danced to at your wedding reception.

How about music actually IN your wedding ceremony?

Here's ours:

Wedding party processed to "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by J. S. Bach

I (bride) walked down aisle to "Trumpet Voluntary" by Purcell

Our recessional was "Ode to Joy" by L. Beethoven

What music did YOU use in your wedding?

I don't remember the names, but I know that I walked down the aisle to the traditional Wedding March and we had Ave Maria playing during the candlelighting. I don't remember what the bridal party walked down the aisle to and walking back up the aisle was the traditional one, but I don't know what it is called.

My husband and his best man came out to "She's so Good for Me" by Bob Seger, my bridesmaids walked down to the song from the movie "Somewhere in Time" During our unity candle someone sang "All I Ask of You" from Phantom of the Opera, and we walked out to "It Had to be You" by Harry Conick, Jr. Yes, I did get married in a church and no I'm not a "stick to tradition" kind of girl

PRELUDE MUSIC:

Pre-recorded:
This is the Day - Brown
Friends - Smith
Say Once More - Grant, Cole
Melody for a Wedding - Torrence, Harmelink

Organ and Piano:
Bach's First Prelude - Bach
Morning Hymn - Haydn from Symphony #5
Thanks Be to Thee - Handel
The Lord's Prayer - Malotte
Sheep May Safely Graze - Bach
Oh How He Loves You and Me - Kaiser

PROCESSIONAL MUSIC:

Organ and Piano:
Trumpet Air - Purcell
Bridal Chorus - Wagner

VOCAL DUETS:

I Could Never Promise You - Francisco (sung after our promises)
Be Thou My Vision - Byrne (sung after prayer, substituting "our" for "my" etc.)

RECESSIONAL MUSIC:

Piano and Organ:
Psalm 19 - Marcello

Seating of the Mothers/Grandmothers: Pachelbel's Canon in D

Bridesmaids Processional: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring

Bridal Processional: Trumpet Voluntary by Clarke

Unity Candle/Kneeling Bench: Ave Maria by Bach/Gounod

Recessional: Hornpipe by Handel

is it sad that it wasn't even a year ago and I can't remember?

I was married by a JP outside...the ceremony lasted 11 minutes I think...one song up the aisle, one song back down...

that canon D sounds familar.

I had my DJ pick...it wasn't something i went nutty over.

Ummm - :scratchin I don't remember. I guess I will have to go back and watch the video for this one.:confused3

Candle lighting was to Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
Processional- Canon in D, Pachebel
Recessoinal- Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Waltz :D

we got married in a wedding chapel in kissimmee. it was just the 2 of us...we gave the woman in charge of the music a copy of the Instrumental Impressions CD from Disney. She just hit play and it played all of the songs on the CD throughout our ceremony! i think i walked down the aisle to the theme from Beauty and the Beast...it's still one of my favorite CD's to this day!

I walked in to Ave Maria.....we did the candle lighting thing to "I Swear" and we walked out to Sleeping Beauty Waltz.....That was my first wedding....I'm picking music for my 2nd.

I know we had 'Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet' and 'Ave Maria'. I forget the others, Marie would know though. :)

I have 2 sisters. We all dabble in singing. My sisters sang a duet before my wedding, when the mothers walked down. The song was "With You" from Pippin. Short, sweet and the last verse is:

And time weaves ribbons of memories
To sweeten life when youth is through.
But I would need no memories there,
if I could share
my life
with you.

We sung it as duets for all of our weddings. The two sisters who were not the bride sang it for the other. *sniff*

We had a VERY small wedding with no music during the actual wedding. We made tapes of pre-recorded music that were played at the reception that included everything from Mozart to the Beatles to Marvin Gaye etc, etc,

Really, Galahad? With your music background, I thought for sure you would have had all kinds of wonderful selections . . .

Hmm, had to find my wedding program for this one as I don't remember it!

We had Hawaiian Wedding Song, Wedding Precession from the Sound of Music, Toccata in F Major, Rondeau by Mouret, I Love You Truly, My Task, Through the Eyes of Love, Hornpipe by Handel, Trumpet Tune in D Major, Jesu, Joy of Desire.

Sounds nice, too bad I don't remember any of it!

Alas. We were young and poor and didn't have any financial help with any of the wedding stuff. We did select the recorded music carefully. But our wedding was in my father's home with about 15 guests. Got married on a Friday evening and were back to work Monday. One of these days we'll have a honeymood. :p

We had Cannon in D to walk down the aisle.

A friend sung, Cross My Heart by George Strait and Shoulder to Cry on by Tommy Page. Then the traditional end song (cant remember the name.)

Here Comes the Bride
The Wedding Song
Perhaps Love
Danny Boy
The Bridal Recessional
