Hi Gals,
Has anyone ever has music set up for the ceremony at SBP?
Live or ipod or anything else?

I feel really strongly about having music but I don't know how it's done.

Just wondering if there are someone who's done so and what do you think about it?

Thank you!

Several people have had recorded music at Sea Breeze Pointe - most that I can remember brought a battery-operated stereo (there are no electrical outlets), but I'm sure Disney would be happy to rent you a whole sound system!

I used an AV tech with a speaker and CD player at SBP. It was all provided by disney all I did was give them a CD with all the songs on it I wanted played. It sounded really nice. I was going to have violin but I really wanted it to be the exact same song as the recordings.

Cool... so for people who uses CDs who actually runs it?
Do you just assign one of your family member or does your WP help?
Thanks everyone... the string trio sounds lovely too.

You can do it either way - if you bring your own player, you have to ask a family member or friend to run it. If you use Disney's setup, you pay for an AV tech to do it. Your WP will be pretty busy doing other stuff...

We're having DFs uncle play his keyboard for the ceremony music. We are providing all the equip, but there is no charge/fee for him to play there (SBP) by Disney. (amazingly! lol)

I know there is a new package for ipod setup. I'm playing some songs off my ipod for the reception. The package includes speakers, mixer...pretty much everything you need. I'm just going to ask one of the family members to hit play. This package is like $250.

Okay, I'm totally not tech-savvy (I don't even know how to work an iPod!). But I would like actual songs played during the ceremony, rather than the live violinist. When I brought this up to my WP, she said that we would have to get a mixer (which I thought was a person) and an audio board (no idea what that is) and all this stuff for $1500, which I thought was outrageously expensive. Then other Dis-brides mentioned that you can just get a boom box for free. My WP apparently read my complaint here (she mentioned it in her email) and agreed that I could use a boombox, which I would be completely responsible for. I don't know that much about sound quality, but I'm fine with a boombox. I'm just afraid of giving that responsibility to a guest.

I wouldn't mind spending $250 if the iPod set up is a lot easier and better. But does it still mean that one of the guests needs to be tech-savvy enough to work it during the ceremony? Has anyone here actually experienced either the boombox set up or the iPod set up?

Thanks,
Jil

Yes, if you get the iPod setup for $250 you need to have a guest to run it. If you don't have one, you can hire a Disney AV tech for another fistful of cash - dunno how much, but my AV tech, CD player and speakers in Epcot package is running me $785 plus a service charge plus tax :headache: Maybe it'd be about the same price...

Hmmm...this is odd. At my SBP wedding we had a CD play, 1 speaker, a mixer and an AV tech and the total cost was $435 + tax and gratuity. Sounds like the estimate they gave you was a little high!
