For us the music at our reception is one of the most important things. It is very important to us to have our favorite songs played and have it sound good. We want a string quartet. At every wedding(this is actually for our VR) the bride and groom always hear the band/DJ play before they hire them. Why is this not the case at Disney? How in the world can I hire entertainment that I have never heard play?:confused3

I just emailed my WP to see what they can do for me. I know they have that Disney classical CD but no offense, we hate it!:rotfl: Not at all what we are looking for.

How do you all handle this? Do you just hire what you want and hope for the best, because it's Disney and it has to be good?

Maybe your WP could get a demo CD from the quartet, or at least from the individual musicians who will probably make up the quartet (since the same people seem to turn up in everyone's pictures!), so you could hear it.

I know that many of the DJs Disney hires have their own websites, so you can find out more info about them there, but I understand your frustration. With the exception of food and cake, the inability to meet with the actual vendors and/or see mock-ups beforehand extends to almost every area of a Disney wedding, including floral, video and photography.

Just saying hi :) :rotfl2: I don't know what to tell you there Nikki , let me know how it turns out...:woohoo:

Thanks Carrie! I emailed my WP and we'll see what she says.

Hi Kelly! You know how Rob is, he wants everything to be perfect and that music better be good!:rotfl:

All the "Disney" DJs are contracted, so most have their own websites and companies in the Orlando Area. Each one has to audition for Disney to make sure they are up to Disney quality standards. You can usually find and look at those websites to get a good feel about the DJ's personality, and if he will be a good fit for you.

Of the DJs who are used regularly, one will be contracted as a vendor by Disney to play your reception (If you have a specific request, you can check with Disney to see if that particular person is available that day). Once assigned, the DJ will contact you to go over all the info you'll need. Rest assured, all of the Disney DJs are top-notch, and Disney will try and match the right one to your wedding.

Good luck with your plans!
