I was just on itunes listening to options for ceremony music since DF's parents are going to be here in a week and I know they'll want to talk about the wedding. Anyways, while I was looking around for music for the ceremony I stumbled upon this great CD of songs that I absolutely loved and would like to have playing at the reception. Do we have to hire a DJ in order to just play the CD, or can we just have the CD playing? It seems pointless to me to have to pay for a DJ when just one CD is going to playing the whole time...

I am actually putting a playlist on my Ipod and hooking it up to speakers. So no DJ for me.

We're not even having dancing at all, so it seemed silly to me to have a DJ there just to play a CD.

I didn't know you could do that. Fantastic! I can't envision many people in our families wanting to dance much anyway (except me!), so this idea is definitely a money-saver. Thanks! :yay:

Remember my wedding is at Shades of Green though. So make sure it is ok with you WP.

Do you think Disney would be willing to do the same thing at any of the ballrooms for a reception? Or would they insist that you pay for live entertainment? I want to try and avoid paying so much money for a band that might go unnoticed.

I know that the WP provides an organist, so at least that's covered.

Hi there, you should ask your WC what your options are. For Ariel's, I was told that if I wanted music, I needed a DJ for insurance purposes.

I'm sorry I can't answer that for you. Like Abby said you need to check for your venue. I hope you can get what is best for you.
