Museum Exhibit on Disney Theme park design....

Did anyone here go to the travelling exhibit called The Architecture Of Reassurance: Designing the Disney Theme Parks?

The exhibit was making a tour around the U.S. in 1998 or thereabouts and it was soooo interesting!

We saw it when it opened at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and if it had been closer to us, we probably would have gone back a second or even a third time.

Curious to know if anyone had heard about it or went to it.

Any museum, museum/Disney nuts out there?

I forgot to post a link to the exhibit......some of it is old information, like dates and stuff (duhhhh LOL) but the rest is pretty cool.

Not a museum nut, but I have a thing for architecture and studied it for 3 semesters in college. I would have loved to have seen that! I put that link in my bookmarks so I can explore it later. I never heard of it.

You know, something I wonder about is when a touring exhibit is done with it's show dates, what do they do with the artifacts? Do they put them on permanent display somewhere or split them up...
if I'm remembering correctly, a lot of the stuff was on loan from different people and even the Disney company itself......

I had the chance to see it in Washington D.C, when I was there for a meeting.

I was upset that I could not take any pics. I did not know that it was a traveling exhibit, if I had I would of looked at the dates to see if it was going to come aroung my neck of the woods.

LOVED the model of DLP's castle.

Picked up the book that they were selling, it has alot of great photos and info in it.

I did see it at the Walker Art Center and it was awesome. I spent most of the day walking through the exibit.

That exhibit was here about 4-5 years ago. It was GREAT! I remember that it was just before AK opened that we saw it here in Minneapolis. There were a lot of AK planning pictures that caught my interest.
