Murray Hill Transpo?

Has anyone used this transpo? I need to rebook my towncar service and I I had a bad experience last year so I am nevous. What do you guys think?
 
They get mixed reviews....just about every company does. We did not have a good experience with them in January. They were not at the airport when we arrived, due to their own internal miscommunication. They were late picking us up at the hotel for our return flight. We booked them because they had the best price on a van for our party of 7, we had used Tiffany 3-4 times before that with no problems. In December we are thinking of trying Florida Tours which sponsors this board

I had booked with FLtours and had issues so I switched. When I called to book the man at FLtours was a little abrupt but I didn't think anything of it. I called him last week to make him aware of some flight changes and never got a return call. I then e-mailed him and he called me back. I gave him all the info and he proceeded to tell me that a one way customer, like ourselves, did not get a grocery stop. We need this stop, I told him. He then said we should just cancel the ressie then. :confused3 OK fine. He then just hung up! :earseek: I hope you have better luck!
 

We used Murray Hill in December and they were excellent. We would definitely use them again. They were waiting for us at the airport on the way in, and right on time picking us up to leave Pop. We had a grocery stop and car seat and everything went perfectly!
 
I've used them twice and I never had a problem with them. My nephew and his girlfriend used them too and they were very happy. They have been very profesional and always showed up, at least, 15-20 before our scheduled pick up time at our hotel.

We used them in November and had problems with their 'internal communication' as well. In our case we wound up having to take transportation that was too small for our party size even though we had paid for something larger. They made it right on the backside by refunding our money but I will not be using them again.
 
We used Murray Hill in January and it was fine.

They were waiting for us at the airport, we were out of baggage claim very quickly and on our way. The grocery stop went fine, driver was very polite and chatted with us, told DS some silly jokes. Very good experience.

Going back to the airport they were about 5 minutes late, which at 4:45 in the morning isn't surprising! :rotfl: There were actually several other families standing out there waiting for transportation in the dark with us, so we had people to talk to!

I really hadn't read very many negative things about them before our trip, with the exception of the one family (probably the same ones above) who ended up with a car too small for their party. With just 3 of us we weren't worried about that same situation happening to us, but if we were in a larger group I might have reconsidered.
 
We used MH last October and had no problems at all! It was SO nice to get our luggage and walk right out to the car. They were actually a few minutes early picking us up at the hotel. We had no complaints and have booked them again for this October's trip!
 
We have used them twice in the past and have been happy both times. Both times our driver was waiting for us in baggage claim and brought our bags for us out to the car, car was clean and in good condition as were the car seat and booster seat, all 4 drivers we have had (different for p/u and return both times) were courteous and helpful. Both trips we have walked out of the resort about 5 minutes before our pick up time to find them sitting there waiting for us.

So no complaints from me. I would use them again. On our last trip we used a different company and in chatting w/ the driver I asked if he was employed by the car company or was an independent contractor. He told me he was a contractor and listed the companies he has worked with (and it was a few of the biggies mentioned on these boards plus some I had never heard of). My husband asked if he ever does arrangements directly with him rather than contracting so he gave us his card and told us to definitely call him, that he could beat any of the car companies he had mentioned rates b/c he then gets the whole fare rather than a split w/ the company. He told us he only gives his card if he is specifically asked about it. We have already called and he did infact quote less than any other company so since we've dealt with him before and knew he did a good job we are booked directly with him for our December trip.
 
We used them last year and will NEVER use them again. We had problems from the begining and will only be using Quicksilver from now on. We have had nothing but positive experiences with Quicksilver.

What this driver did is highly unacceptable. If the owners of the transportation companies he mentioned he works for find this out he will probably not work with them anymore, no matter if he was "specifically" asked.
Drivers that do subcontracted work do not have their own way to find business other than working for companies like ours (most of them anyway). That is why he has to pay a commission which IS NOT a split, but generally 20% of the total fare.
This driver chose to give his back to the ones that feed him, and tomorrow he will be yet another driver without work, or he will have to invest in a real company and pay for all the advertisement we have to pay to get our clients...

My friend used Murray Hill in February and had nothing but good things to say about the service. I tried calling them to make a ressie for our upcoming trip and no one answered the phone. This was midday on a Friday. I quickly decided I wasn't going to use a company that I couldn't get a hold of.

I was going to call Fl Tours, but couldn't get their phone number because their website wasn't working.

Next I called Quicksilver and my call was answered on the first ring. You know who is going to be getting my business on Saturday.
 
We used MH in Oct. 2004, Dec. 2004, Feb. 2005 and May 2005 - and I will be using them again in Oct. this year! They were on time (even early) each trip and all of our drivers (we had 3) were very professional and helpful. The owner, John, is a gem and we were lucky to have him on both legs of our trip in May. I would highly recommend them! By the way, I have always communicated with them via e-mail and gottem prompt response from John's wife Marie. John will be glad to give you his cell phone number so you can reach him during your trip.
