Murphy Beds

I think right now all that is left is AKV and maybe OKW.

There are some rooms at CCV and BRV that couldn’t get them because of the slope of the ceiling.

The BPK resort studios at VGF have two beds in the studios and a lay flat couch. No Murphy beds.

OKW studios are also two beds but always have been.

I believe it’s the 123 line of rooms at BWV (much bigger living room) that also doesn’t have them.

At OKW, I think with a refurb they could do it - in the 1-bedrooms, use the solid wall to the right of the windows, where the sleeper chair usually sits - it's plenty of wall space to mount the murphys - then a section of couch and the sleeper chair could relocate to where the large couch units are now.

I personally would love to see the studios at OKW also convert to 1 bed and the murphy - if needing both beds I definitely preferred the two beds over a bed and a sleeper sofa - but the murphys are as comfortable as a bed, so that would at least give a little more seating comfort in the studios when the beds aren't in use...my only real annoyance with the OKW studios is having to sit on a bed or in a hard chair - no couch option.

I recently stayed in one of the Boulder Ridge 5th floor units post-refurb that had the sofa beds still, because of the sloped roof design. Didn't matter in that case since no one needed that additional bed - but it was still strange to see the fully refurbed room and not see a murphy there.

This sounds like the best room for you. IMO the Murphy beds are not comfortable for sitting and lounging so since you didn’t need the bed the real couch is ideal.

....which puts the couch in a super uselss place with respect to the rest of the room, unless they completely re-do the island as well. And that's why I don't think they will do it. At least, if I were an OKW owner and paying for all of that, I wouidl not want them to. But I'm also not a "cram as many people into the room as I can" person, so the presence or absence of the murphy doesn't matter to me as much as the utility of the sofa as a sofa.

I may be a little strange but I prefer the murphy couch over the sofa couch. I'm a big and tall guy and on the non-murphy sofas, I sink down too far - I end up putting one of the decorative pillows under the couch cushion so I don't sink as much. The firmer murphy couch actually works better for me!

That makes sense as they are certainly firmer!!

But one thing I think everybody can appreciate with the Murphy beds, though is the fact that you don’t have to try and find where to store the stupid cushions if using it as a bed

I've been a little grumpy about the murphy conversions for a similar reason; I've found the "regular" sofa beds more comfortable as sofas. However, I was at CCV last week and found the murphy-as-couch to be surprisingly comfortable. I don't know if the vendor has changed the composition slightly, or if I'm just getting soft in my old age. ;-)

I think it has more to do with the slant/pitch of the couch than anything... that's my theory...
